Don't get me started. I'm still mad as heck over that. Cars that rode on cushions of air and could even fly, that had clear plastic dome roofs. And what about the dang ROBOTS, that were supposed to mow our grass for us? Huh? Where are THEY? Ipod, my foot! I want that robot!

You know you're good when all you have to do to get a standing ovation is walk onto stage.

Crush? Heck, I'll just go ahead and admit it... I'M IN LOVE!

That was too cool for school! Martina and the King! Far out!

But, get this. Martina was only 2-years-old when Elvis did that Comeback Special.

Ricky Skaggs was bound to be a star. Check him out with Flatt & Scruggs at age 7!

Wow, you just reminded me of one I used to play back in the day. "I Am A Rock." I can't remember if I did Homeward Bound or not. Seems I tried, but it was too high to hit the notes or something.

SCRATCH THAT.
Turns out, I did give "Homeward Bound" a whirl a couple years ago.

The debate still continues...Corsair or P-51 Mustang? Dunno the performance figures of each, but both were beautiful.

"Pappy" Boyington sure wasn't as good looking as Robert Conrad, was he? Fighter pilots are indeed a different breed.

I also liked seeing the old footage of the grunts with M-1 Garands. I have one. With it's 8 round enbloc clip, it's not considered an assault rifle these days. Cindy's Uncle carried one on Guadacanal...

.....

I was looking at Boyington and kept thinking "He looks like somebody I've seen before. But who?" Then it finally hit me. Frank Sutton (Sgt. Carter on Gomer Pyle). That's the guy they should've got to play Boyington's part in movies!

Those M-1s walked circles around the old bolt-action Mausers the Germans had to use.

The P-51 and the Corsair? A toss-up. The Corsair took care of the Jap Zero, though.

Jim, I gotta say that homeward bound made you stretch your vocal range a bit, but you did a damned credible job. I enjoyed it. Boy you nailed it on who shoulda played Pappy. Not all the war heros were as good looking as the guy who portrayed them. One very notable exception: Audie Murphy. (sp?)

The garand, with it's 30-06 round is still an ass kicker...definitely could reach out and touch someone at long range. (edit) I have a couple of enbloc clips cut down for 5 round capacity, make it a legal hunting rifle here.

Cool Move over, Charley Pride!

About a year ago, I stumbled onto a video of a young black man singing an old classic by George Jones. I was amazed at how much he sounded like George and more than a little skeptical that it was really him singing. That first video was poorly done and never focused in on Tony singing. But now, it seems I was wrong. Dead wrong. His talent goes far beyond just sounding like George Jones. When John Sebastian and Vince Gill join with you to sing backup on a vid, you are the real deal. Here's a smattering of Tony Jackson's latest stuff. Amazing talent. Just amazing!

You have now been indoctrinated into the music world of Tony Jackson!
