It Exists! - The Red 2008 Bullitt Prototype

Hey Guys,

We had the HUGE Mustang Memories car show at Ford World Headquarters yesterday and the IMBOC 10th Anniversary was part of it. I know several of you asked me about a red 08 Bullitt Prototype at the Bullit Nats last month, but I had no knowledge of it. I assumed it had probably gone to the crusher.

However, included in the row of Bullitts yesterday was that very car! Here are a few shots I grabbed of it.

Surprised it didn't hit the crusher. Definitely a piece of Mustang BULLITT history.

They sure look a heck of a lot better in green or black...not too high on red as a Bullitt. I think the red says put scoops, spoilers and stripes on me...

Oh I forgot to mention we spotted a lowered 08/09 DHG Bulliitt heading across the 580 bridge to Cordelia yesterday, had a chrome Ford Racing license plate frame (didn't get the #). It looked great. My wife even said "why does it look different than ours?" Lowering a B does makes it look very good!!!
Any chance this was a fellow member in Northern California?

The Red makes great camouflage for a Green/Black car though. Hiding in plain sight.

Ford is still the owner. They graciously brought it out for the show.

Strange. Very strange.

Q: If our Bullitts are '08/'09s, why then does this "prototype" have "2008 1/2" marked on the windshield tag? Seems to me that any prototype would have come before introduction of our cars, and '08 1/2 is clearly in the middle of the model year.

BTW, the red is hideous.

I think that is pretty cool that Ford kept the car, and is bringing it out for special events.
