THE GT500 CELEBRATES 50 YEARS IN 2017

See Power from Today and Yesterday at Carlisle

1967 wasnít just the year that saw the first Rolling Stone Magazine published, it was also the year that Ford, or more specifically Carrol Shelby, rolled out the powerful Shelby GT500. The GT500 was amazing, fresh and packed with power unknown to a streetable vehicle of the time. The 1967 Shelby GT500 was the first model built in the Shelby GT500 range and it was based on the 1967 Mustang Fastback. The GT500 came equipped with a 428cu (7.0L) V8 and in year one, only 2,048 of them were produced. The 1967 version of the GT500 may be most famous because of its appearance in the 2000 action flick "Gone in 60 Seconds.Ē Building T comes to life with a special Shelby GT500 display complete with cars, Shelby car clubs, guests and more.

See some of the best GT500s in the world at Carlisle in 2017. Show yours or come see those owned by enthusiasts just like you. We just might even get the newest edition of the GT500 at Carlisle too. If you were at the show in 2016, you know that Ford has some amazing last minute surprises up their sleeve. Donít just see the fun, be the fun. Register today!

Is there a particular reason the Ford club is not IMBOC? Thanks for any clarification.

Hello Tony,
If IMBOC is not in the list of Clubs, it is because no IMBOC Officer contacted Carlisle to register the club.

Ah, got ya. I don't think IMBOC has any officers per se. In fact, I don't think ever B-Man would have called himself an officer. I think the only officer IMBOC ever had was PX/PY/Sweet Baby James/Cochese, since he's the only one with his own dedicated subforum

The only time anything got done in the name of IMBOC it was from its members stepping up and doing so. Mike, from day one, always had a policy of separation between the site and any event organizations.
So "IMBOC" was always used as an allowed, but distanced, association during the days when event organizations were loosely structured.

Once IMBOC's event organizing members decided there needed to be a more formal, if not protected basis, the name IMBOC could not be used. Bullitt event organization birthed HoonDog, the current non-profit charitable company. While HoonDog has grown to be a Ford Performance oriented entity (considering the significant support we enjoy from Ford MoCo) HoonDog still supports and provides for IMBOC/Bullitt focused events.

So it should NOT be taken as any kind of an affront, nor questioned why HoonDog is listed as the organizing 'club'. Very simply....it's because we ARE the motivated people by which Bullitt events exist to this day, having been the ones who did so from the very start.

I do however find it a little disconcerting why, after 6 years, there are some who still question the association between HoonDog, IMBOC, and the Bullitt community. HoonDog was simply created by the Bullitt event organizers who have done so since 2002. I would have thought this was common knowledge by now.

Kurt, I asked the question for understanding only, especially since I was unaware that anything in Carlisle was being done under the Hoondog umbrella. Sorry if you mistook my question as questioning intention. Don't make me send Cochese your way to do something silly!
