I have seen a Grizz, and it's cubs, while hiking in the Tetons years ago.
And as far away as it was, it still stood and 'challenged' us...and contrary to presumptions, we had bells and pots and pans dangling and clanking on our back packs to warn and scare them off in theory....it didn't.

Trust me....you DON'T want to encounter a Grizz in the wild. I have encountered hundreds of brown/black bears in my life, and never once felt threatened. But there is no such thing as being far enough away from a Grizz though in my book!

Will....
your #1 has been on my list forever...and yet to fulfill it...

But where I used to live in Lawrenceville GA was right next to an airport where the EAA B17 comes around every year giving rides...
what was pure torment was that its take off flight path, every hour, was right over my house....at about 500' agl...under full power...
You could feel every piston popping at that distance....

Someday.....

What is funny is that so far everyone has had something on their list that I share....

Hey Kurt! Maybe we'll get to go up together? I'll man the left waist guns...you cover the right waist position.

B-17 flight deck

1. Drive the Al-Can highway, up and back. Probably next summer........
2. Take a ride in the B-17 mentioned above...as Pilot in Command!
3. Scare the Bejeezus out of Chris W and Kurt while they "man" the waist guns.
4. Drive Rt. 66 from start to finish, then back again!
5. Drive Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Maine and other NE Provences and States, in the fall.
6. Visit Hawaii, till I am sick and tired of fabulous weather.
7. Take a visit to the land of Oz, the Aussies and New Zealand.

I actually have more, and they might be okay to post, but I doubt that the items missing from this Bucket List matters to Bullittheads.

OK...here are some of mine, but I have WAY more than 7....

1) Like Midge, don't wanna just ride, I wanna list seat time in my pilot log book in a B-17 (and a Ford Tri-motor, and DC-3, and P51)
2) Explore back country of Alaska, especially being able to drop in and out of places via a bush plane
3) have time/money/ability to liesurely drive across and explore this great nation as well as Canada, and be independently wealthy to drop $100 tips.
4) Own a 1969 Mustang to cruise around in
5) Own a Waco or Stearman bi-plane and just go barnstorming at a whim (actually, own a bi-plane to barnstorm local air, and a Lancair Evolution Turbo-prop to go cruise longer distances)
6) Travel to Sweden with my dad and see the places he, and his ancestors lived
7) Return to Scoul/Tarasp/Vulpera Switzerland and stand on the ground where the once great opulent old European 100 yr old hotel once stood where I worked in 1976(it burned down years later)

So...question....are these supposed to be reasonably attainable bucket lists (considering some of these I would need to win the lotto), or pipe dream anything goes bucket lists??

Thumbs up Piloting? I'm bringing water ballons...its a bomber right?

I'm looking at (most) of my list as reasonably attainable...planting a nice/nasty lunger in red shirts eye as the only 'pipe-dream' on my bucket list.

hey Midge? Kurt? that slightly hairy set of orbs you'll see in the navigators astrodome on this B-17 we'll be flying in while you two get logable stick time...well just think of one of my fav photies I love to post...

...well, the 'arsch' in the bubble will be mine!

Chris W...cool photie B-17G with the K-6 waist gun mount.

Hmmmm.....

Midge and I in right/left seat, Chris and Paul manning the waist, Bob manning the tail, JimBob in the upper turret, we'll squeeze Treva or Vicki into the ball turret, and a crazy Kraut mooning, I mean manning, the forward guns.....oh hell what a formidable force that would have been!!!!! LMAO!!!

Wink 12 O'Clock High...a Hoon-dawg production

Give Vicki the ball turret and Treva can be tail-gunner...Treva, you get twin fifties for your spot...and you get to watch out for fokkers trying to shoot us down from behind!

Bob would be a better bombardier...
