2008 Bullitt Mustang

This Post is going to be for those that would like to See & Read
about Mods.
Also, for those that simply LUV Fast Mustangs.

I picked BRENSPEED in Pierceton, IN. to do my 08 Bullitt Mustang.
I would recommend them to anyone. They are a 1st class operation.

They also offer their Guest House to Out-of-State customers that
are traveling long distance. A simple phone call 1-574-594-9559
will "Reserve" it.

Here are Pics of the Guest House.

I stayed at the Guest House while the Bullitt was being Modded.
There was at times two Techs. (Mike & Dave) working on the Bullitt
at different times. Mike (Primary Tech) started on the Bullitt as soon
as they opened and stopped when they closed. He took a Very-Small
lunch break and was right back to work. Dave also as I said worked
on it some while Mike was working on a different area.

Gives you an idea of just how STRONG this 2008 Bullitt Mustang is.

Here are the things I did "Before" I went to BRENSPEED in
Preparation for the (Increased-Power).
Custom Limited Edition Plate along with Strut-Tower-Brace

Here is the New Custom Plate
"Exact-Duplicate"

Custom Plate fits right in
the Rectangle Box

New Tires that are the Exact same ones that came on the GT500
Mustang.

Painted for 1-week underneath every Rusted place I could find. It
was so HOT I had to cover up to keep from Scorching my Legs on
Top and Bottom against Asphalt Driveway.

Installed H&R Hub Centric 25MM Front & Rear Wheel Spacers.

The rear spacers go on with (No-Problem) & Wheels fit Great
But the Front Spacers fit okey but you have to "Cut" Off your
existing 5-Wheel Studs. They stick out to "Far". This is how you
should do the cutting. High Speed Dremel Tool W/Cutting Blade.
Look at this Pic and notice I left the Wheel-Lugs on next to the
Lug I was Cutting-Off. This way No-Messed up Threads.

Here are the Pieces that were Cut-Off. Notice they are different
Heights.

This pic shows the Finished Product. After cutting those Lugs off.
You have to then use the Dremel with a Grinding-Wheel. To make
all the Cut-Off-Studs as close as possible to the same (Length).
You, Do-Not actually Cut or Grind any of the (Threads). You are
only working with the end of the studs before you get to the
Threads. Takes time but (Not-Hard) to do.

I sent my 2-Back Stock Wheels to James at Weldcraft to have them
(Widened). They were 8.5" stock and they added 1.5" to make them
10" Wide. Shelby GT500 has 9.5" Wheels Front & Rear.
I know many of you are interested in this so you can retain the
Stock Wheels, so here are many Pics of the Widened Wheels.

Here are the 2-Rear wheels Mounted & Balanced
This one took only 1-Weight

This one took 2-Small Weights

Here is the (Front-Side) of the Wheels as I removed them from the
Very-Well-Packed Box.
Notice, Not a Mark, Period !!!

Here are 2-Pics of the Box they came back in.
They were (Double-Boxed) and then had Bubble-Wrap.

Here are 3-Pics of the Rear of my Bullitt.
I changed the Fake Gas Cap to a
(Silverhorse Racing Black Billet Trunk Emblem).
I Added the (Silverhorse Racing Black Honeycomb Taillight Panel) to
match the Front. BRENSPEED then Added the (Silverhorse Racing
Billet Fuel Door).

the above changes.

This is interesting I think. These Pics were taken
by a former Ford Engineer that was traveling.
He saw the Bullitt the night before and
was waiting when I came out to leave.
I started it up to let it Warm-Up and
when I came back out he was checking the
Bullitt out.
He shot these Pics and was Excited over the way
the Bullitt now Sounded and the New
H/P & Torque figures.

I drove back to BRENSPEED Performance and
waited for Dyno Don to show-up from
Indianapois, IN.
He was going to drive the Bullitt back and
then feed me at The Crackle Barrel
Here's Don getting the 08 Bullitt Keys
Good Times !!!

Oh,
From trying to follow Don on the way to Indianapolis, IN. I think he was having
a Great time. Or it certainly Sounded like it from where I was sitting.
He will have to tell what He thought.

Well, there it is. The new and improved Tigermachine. Looks great Terry. I did guess that one in my list of guesses of what you were up to.

Sorry about the hood. But with a negative, there is always a positive. Maybe you want to consider a new hood with heat extraction or maybe a carbon fibre hood or a high rise? Now is the chance to turn that mishap into a new mod sequence. Hey buddy, I love spending your money.

I like the lights and the Eleanor Mustang is one that I've always wanted. I almost bought a restored '68 (ground up/off frame) one this past spring. I pondered too long and the guy got his asking price. Oh well, the Bullitt is fine with me.

Don,

I just received an OFFER on a New-Hood for My-Bullitt that cannot be BEAT at any Price !!!!

Man, I just LUV it when My-Personal IMBOC Friends come to the (Rescue).

Will explain that a little later on, after Monday morning.

Thanks for the Compliment on the new look.

I really like it and the nice thing is, they Work !!!

Ouch!! So sorry for your mishap, thats a dent in anybodys wallet as well as the ego. At least it looks like you are getting a new hood donated in exchange...

Your new grill mod IMO begs the question: When is a Bullitt not a Bullitt? Besides the color, the stealth looks without all the usual badging trim and flash make the 08-09 Bullitt unique capturing the look of the original movie Bullitt. Living in SoCal, one sees alot of modfied muscle cars with styling cues of questionable taste and the Bullitt is a refreshing departure from that with its oh so subtle looks. Again, just my 2 cents and I expect I will catch flak for my observations. But hey, I am still looking forward to all posts on the Tiger machine!

Hello Terry.
That Eleanor set-up looks super on your car. It fits the killer street machine theme you have going on there. Sorry to see that hood damage, that must have been REAL painful. Glad you have a hood coming. (If not, the Saleen aluminum heat extractor hood would have been a great choice with your shaker scoop, too.)

New lights look killer. Damn shame about the hood ,sounds like you have a line on one already though.
Too bad , I was going to give you mine and use that as an excuse to get that heat extractor like on the original. Good luck with the repairs. Is the doner hood pre cut?

LOOKS AWESOME!!! You had me worried for the last few days. I was afraid Ron would gorge on the box of CHEEZITS you sent him! I feel your pain on the hood. As many pieces of equipment I operate at various times of the year invariably those things happen! I just refer to myself as having a "Senior Moment". And as you know I am only 4 years behind you. Carbon fiber hood would look nice though!! No time like the present!! ;)

Terry, not my personal choice for fogs, but enjoy your new mod! I am glad you did it since I have been thinking about the Steeda fascia and adding the lower fogs and brake cooling ducts. Now I have a better idea of what is involved.

I'm sorry to hear about your mishap- that sucks! I installed my "crash barrier" just in case I accidentally do the same thing, and it has saved me once or twice.

Hi Ken,

As I always say to others when it comes to personal Mods.

Do what you like and if some others like what you did they can then follow your lead.

The Barrier in my case would have been GREAT ..........

Man, 5 feet from an idling car can do a Nasty Lot of Damage !!!!!!!!!
It happens so quick it just seems at the time it is in (Slow-Motion).
It is like your thinking process as to what to do in those seconds just is BLOCKED !!!

Yea I have a 2008 Bullitt Mustang Hood with Shelby hood pins holes already cut! I am not sure but I think the Aluminum on these hoods would be hard to "Fix". So after seeing the hood bent I just thought My hood is unused so call a fellow bullitthead and offer mine! They will have to cut out the Shaker hole though!!!
Terry, I was just hopeing to bring in a little light to a farily dark day!!! This life is way to short not to help out a friend for sure!!!

#1,597 ·
Terry, I hope you know I was messing with ya in my post. I am glad its going to work out so smoothly on your recovery, the members on these forums are defiantly top notch, as i learned in person at the car show in NJ.

Anyway, I actually kind of like the mod. Not "typical" Bullitt, but looks good. The only thing I think I would do different, would be to try to get the fogs to match the regular lamps while the car is just sitting there. I don't know if its the Blue bulbs, or the HIDs on the regular lamps, but IMHO that is the only thing I "dislike" about it. Not dislike so much I wouldn't do it, but would prefer to match if possible.

The only other thing that would be cool, would be to see some lower lamps in true Eleanor style, but I know with were our heat exchangers are put that would kill our IAT and no one wants that!

Anyway, nice mod, crummy what happened, glad your getting it fixed.

Almost forgot. The bumper in some of the pics looks like its got some crinkle to it. I imagine it probably was pushed in much more then it is now when it hit and bounced back, but is that actually a mark, or just reflection. If its a mark, are you going to replace the bumper as well?

Bobby,

This is something I want to say here on IMBOC about some of our Members like (You).

IMHO (In-My-Honest-Opinion) I think there are few if any INTERNET Sites on Mustangs that
the Members will come to the Aid of another Member.

Plenty of Off-Handed-Cute-Remarks made on the different Sites.

Very few times I have read where a Member has picked up the phone instantly and called another Member and done what you did yesterday.
You did not bring up (MONEY) for the Hood which just shows what caliber Man you are.

So sorry to hear about the unfortunate accident. No one ever expects to have one, thats why it was an accident. If you think like i do, its only an oppertunity to make the tigermachine better. When the incident is fresh in your mind it is hard to think that way but after a little time new things come to mind and it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

IMBOC is first class all the way!!! Leave it to a fellow bullitthead to save the day!!! I can't express how happy it makes me to be a part of this family.

BOBBY, You are a true blue friend.{or should i say green}. Either way, its nice to know that good people are still willing to lend a hand,or [hood]. Its sentiment like that, that makes the world go around.

Keep your chin up Terry, its going to be awesome when your done!!!

JD,

The front fascia is Damaged so it will be Replaced also.

The Fog-Lights are actually called Halo Fog Lights and they are "Different" and have a different
look than the Stock Fog Lights.
When you turn on your Parking Lights the Halo Lights up in the Fog-Lights.
Looks pretty darn cool actually.
Was getting ready to take Pics of that very thing when the Bullitt went into the Stand.
I like different !!!

Not for for everyone for sure but I think I may have mentioned that in the Post before I made
the change.

And there is No-Problem at all with Us Pal.

The difference in what people do and like is what makes Life interesting.

Can you just imagine everyone having the Exact same YUGO to drive and it the Same Color.

The best example I can think of is this.
I could not wait to get in the Military and get that Dress Uniform. (I'm Serious).
I was 18 years old.
But once I got in there I soon found out that (Everyone) had the Exact-same-Clothes.
So, it was No-Big-Deal then.

LOL,
Terry
