I replaced mine about 2 months ago only had 40,000 miles on it. Don't really know if the previous owner ran it on low fuel or just went out but i had to replace it. It still worked i would just lose fuel pressure.
Just replaced mine on both convertible (80K) and Bullitt(65K). Convertible in December. It gave me warnings like not starting 50% of the time and when it did, it ran like a pig. Bullitt went on me 2 weeks ago with no warning. Just died at an intersection. Had to get a tow.
Root cause was neglected fuel filter (and age). One of those "I'll get to it" Jobs that caught up to me! Hard lesson learned.
Mine has err ...... had almost 125000 on it. Died back first part of Dec. Had to get rollback to get it home. New BBK pump waiting to be installed by FarmerDon Hayseeds. Lazy mechanic to say the least!
Mine failed about 5 years ago at 63k, but the car had sat for over a year without being started... I replaced with a SVT Focus pump and its worked fine since.
