"Full-Size-Spare-Tire" 2008/2009 info on How you can have it, LOADED W/PICTURES !!!!
Here is a Full Report on the 2008/2009
Bullitt Mustang and how to
"Modify"
it for a Full-Size-Spare Tire with the
Shaker 1000 Sound System.
Also this "Applies" to the 2008/2009
Bullitts that "Do-Not" have the
Shaker-1000
I had this done by a Master Tech (Brian) at Gary Force Acura. He
also did my Magnaflow 16674 Exhaust System
& Service on my 2008 Bullitt Mustang a week ago.
I am including a lot of information here on this Post as I feel like
there are "Many-Members" here that wish They had a
Factory Full Size Bullitt Wheel & Tire in Their Cars. I know I wanted
one from the Second I took Delivery. Now that I am Retired and will
be driving (I-Hope) more to Visit with some of You . I don't want
to be out in the middle of No-Where in the early AM Hours and get
the Sidewall "Damaged" by something and there I sit. A container of
Tire Sealant & Compressor is of No-Use Period if the Tire
is Damaged to the point that Tire Sealant is Not-Going to Seal the
Cut-Puncture or Blow-Out.
I'm going to type a lot of Text & Provide a lot of Pictures here as I
think is necessary to Fully give You the Best Picture & Explanation
on how this was Completed.
Hopefully, I will NOT leave anything out that you would need to
know.
Note*
You let all the Air out of the Spare Tire that will come out on
it's own. That "Allows" the Factory 18" Wheel & Tire to fit into the
wheel well in your trunk. This will "Not-Cause" the tire to Break
Away from it's Seal on the Rim. You then when it becomes
Necessary Simply "Remove" the Wheel & Tire from the Wheel Well
and use the Bullitt Supplied 12-Volt Compressor to Air the Spare
back up. Without doing this the "Full Size 18" Factory Wheel & Tire
(WILL-NOT-FIT) in the Wheel Well.

Let me get Started.
This is what you see looking straight down in your trunk.
The panel that is Covering your Tail Light Assemblies has
to be "Removed" and CUT into a Semi-Curve for the
Full Size Wheel & Tire to drop into the Wheel Well. It was
then Sanded Smooth on the "Edge" so as Not to Later "CUT"
(Your-Hand) while working with the (Placement & Removal)
of your Spare.

Rear Plastic Panel Removed and here it is with the Semi-Circle Cut
for the Spare to Clear. Don't forget to Sand the Edge after the Cut.

This is the Trunk Carpet and you can see that it is Glued to this
Wood. Here in these pics, you can see where the Wood has been
"Cut" on the One-Edge. This is the side that goes next to the
Shaker 1000. This is necessary as once the Spare is put into the
Wheel Well this Bottom Carpeted Floor will be Raised Approx. 1-Inch
Higher. So, before this the Carpeted piece would simply fit under the
Shaker 1000 Subs along with the Carpet. This Mod. will allow the
Carpeted Floor to now sit right beside the "Edge" of the Shaker 1000
Subs. The Carpet will "Drop" right down beside the Shaker 1000
Subs and it once Completed looks "Factory".

In this Pic. I set the Piece of "Wood" that was Cut. This will give you
a Close-Up of the Back Side of the Floor Panel as well as the Piece
that was "Removed".

can See the "Clearance" between the Spare & the Rear Plastic Panel.
Also, this shows you (WHY) it was Necessary to make the Semi-Cut

Looking down at the Spare & the "Clearance" between the Spare &
the Shaker 1000 Subs. Plastic Rear Panel is in place. Also look at the
Left Side of the Shaker Subs, & you can Kind Of See that the Spare
Tire is up "Above" the Lower Edge of the Subs. That is why it was
necessary to "Cut" the Wood Carpeted Floor so it would now Fit
beside the Left Side of the Shaker 1000 Subs.

Now the NEXT thing that needs to be "Covered" is this.
The 2008/2009 Bullitts Do-Not come with a Spare Tire Changing Kit.
The Bullitt Mustangs have the "Emergency"
Tire Sealant Container & Portable 12-Volt Air Compressor.
Here is what You "Purchase" & also "Where" it All Goes in the Bullitt.
Ford Factory Mustang Spare Tire Kit.
The Jack goes right under the "Spare Wheel". I Wrapped

You also need the Following items I think for that "Flat-Tire"
Changing Event.
Hand Cleaner it goes right down with the Jack under the
Spare.
Also Note that the Lug Wrench in it's Felt-Holder "Fits" right
in Front of the Spare Wheel. No-Rattles as the Carpeted Floor
Covering lies right on Top of it Flat.

You will "Maybe" need a 12-Volt Utility-Light. It goes in the
Left Side Pocket under the Carpeted Mat. Along with the
Bullitt "Standard-Equipment" Air Compressor & Tire Sealant.
They BOTH Fit right in the "Left" Rear Side of Trunk under
Carpet.

Look Close here at the left rear side of the trunk now that
the Carpeted Floor is back in Place. Remember the
Utility-Light & the Compressor/Tire Sealant Combo. They
are right there under the Carpet. Out of Sight and looks just
like "Factory".

I took the time here to just do a Few Of the "Most-Important"
pages for you.
pages for you.
Remember the "Option" of the "Torque-Wrench" ???
This is "Why" I included it in this information.
This is the "Emergency" Tire Kit I Referred to Earlier.
I have I think Compiled the Necessary information above for ALL
Bullitt Mustang Owners that wish to have a
"Factory Full-Size Spare".

I have done many Threads here and some of them have been very
informative on a Variety of Subjects.
informative on a Variety of Subjects.
But "Honestly" I think this Thread is the "Most-IMPORTANT" one
that I have done here on IMBOC for it's Members. This will give
the ones of you that have a Spouse, Girl/Boy Friend, or Children
that might be in your Bullitt out in the Middle-Of-No-Where
"Peace-of-Mind". You cannot place a "Dollar" Value on that. So I
Only-Suggest here that You give this some Very-Very-Serious
Consideration as it might just be the one thing that saves You or a
Loved One's Life.

New Added information !!!
This just came up from a Member on IMBOC
So I decided to do a TEST & Verify that
the 12-Volt Portable Air Compressor
that comes in the 2008/2009 Bullitt Mustangs (WORK)
I just took the time to go out and do a TEST to see if the
(Portable 12-Volt Compressor)
(Portable 12-Volt Compressor)
that is Shipped with Bullitt Mustangs would (Inflate) the Spare with (Near Zero)
Air Pressure in it.
Here is what I just found out !!!!!!!
It took Approximately 4-5 Minutes to go from ZERO Pressure (My Inner Valve Stem) was
REMOVED to let all the Air-Out back when I had the Spare Tire Thread done.
I did Check it again this morning with a Pro Gage and it Showed ZERO-Air-Pressure.
Here are Pics I took so you can see that in fact the Air Compressor will Perform and in a
Reasonable Time Frame.
This took 4-5 Minutes and I put 40 PSI in the Spare Tire.
