The Fuel Slut recovered 2001 Bullitt

This is the famous 'stolen Bullitt' that generated all the drama all those years ago.

https://www.imboc.com/forums/87-bull...my-garage.html

The pictures above are from the previous owner, just before I bought the car with 6500 miles on it.

These pictures are after it was recovered:

It was put back together and received a PHENOMENAL paint job. It is literally better than new.

This is how it looked immediately upon being repaired in August 2007:

The car was painted from the beltline up. New driver front fender and front bumper. The paint is super nice. Transmission rebuilt and new clutch installed by Lamotta. Minor suspension damage to driver front wheel area. The oil pan and headers have minor dents from this guy trying to escape (read the thread above if interested) but nothing to impact the mechanicals of the car. I have put on about 12,000 miles since the repairs were done with ZERO issues. For a car with this many mods, that is saying something.

Here are the mods on the car, pretty much all installed by the previous owner:

Engine
Kenne Bell 9 psi Intercooled Twin Screw Supercharger
SLP Long Tube 1 5/8 Headers
SLP X-pipe with Catalytic Converters
Borla 2.5" Catback
Accufab 75mm Throttle Body
Kenne Bell Big Tube Intake Kit
90mm MAF Sensor
36 lb/hr Fuel Injectors
Kenne Bell Cold-Air Kit
Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump
Kenne Bell Switch Chip
03 Cobra Dual Fuel Pumps and Tank
03 Cobra Radiator (2 Row Aluminum)
Moroso 7 qt. Oil Pan
Steeda Oil Catch Can
Deleted EGR System

Driveline
RPS Aluminum Flywheel
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch Kit
Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft
Steeda Tri-ax Shifter
Ford 3.31 Ring and Pinion Gears
Ford Racing 31 Spline Limited Slip Differential
Moser 31 Spine Axles

Brakes
Powerslot Rotors
Hawk HPS Rear Pads
Stock Ford Front Pads
Goodridge Stainless Steel Braided Lines

Suspension
Ford Racing 1995 Mustang Cobra R Front and Rear Springs (700/850 lb/in (f), 200/260 lb/in)
Tokico Illumina 5 Way Adjustable Shocks/Struts
Steeda HD Rear Sway Bar
Steeda Bump Steer Kit
Steeda X2 Ball Joints
Steeda Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms
Steeda HD Upper Rear Control Arms
Steeda Camber/Caster Plates
Steeda Full Length Subframe Connectors
Kenny Brown Jacking Rails

Exterior
2001 Cobra Front Bumper Conversion
18x9, 18x10 WR Bullitt Wheels
Toyo T1S 275/35 18 F, 295/35 18R

Interior
Autometer Triple Gauge Pod
Autometer Z-Series Boost Gauge
Autometer Z-Series Fuel Pressure Gauge
Autometer Z-Series Oil Temp Gauge
Steeda Aluminum Shift Knob

It is pretty heavily modified, but it has been 100% trouble free in all my years of ownership. No mechanical issues, no leaks, no surprises. A couple of minor paint flaws, but still looks great. Will need new tires this season.

32,000 miles currently. Looking for $17,000.

Clean Green Michigan title, but I am sure the Car Fax has a record of the theft/recovery back in 2007. Car is located in Brighton Michigan.

I have all documentation on the car - window sticker, build sheet as well as all of the documentation for all of the original modifications and the repairs after the 'incident'. Mechanically, the car needed a new clutch and a couple minor suspension components. Lamotta Performance in Florida handled that. LaMotta Performance

The body work was done by Brad Samuels in Sanford FL - Welcome to Samuels Paint and Autobody - Sanford, Florida

Both of these are TOP NOTCH shops. The car was fixed correctly.

If there are any questions about the car or if any additional information is needed, please let me know.

I will get some current pictures posted later tonight. Rest assured, it is still in great condition.

Thanks for looking.
Kevin

Thanks for reposting that thread. It has been years since I read this story and it's great that it has been brought up again.

Here are some current pics.

This is just having been pulled out of her winter slumber. Has not even been cleaned up yet.

Very nice, love the cobra bumper (like mine), and it appears to be in great shape. Why have just one if you can have two at twice the price! LOL The gears are turning in my head......

No one is interested in one of the nicest 2001 Bullitts in existence?

Priced too high? Looking for some feedback, guys.

The gears are still turning, but slowly due to old age, and fear of the better half.

Here's my feelings Kevin. The car looks great. For me, there are too many mods. I would want a straight up stock car. I'd be a little concerned about the body work holding up over the long run. That said, if you find the right person who likes the car for what it is, the money you are asking doesn't seem too high. Probably $15K is your trigger point. Good luck.

Appreciate the feedback. Understand the reluctance due to the mods the car has, as well. Truth be told, I had reservations abut the mods when I bought the car originally with about 5600 miles about a dozen years ago. With that being said, the car has never let me down in the 25,000 miles I have out on it. Nothing even close. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car to California tomorrow. It is dead nuts reliable. Of course, it is still not a 'stock' car, and will never be, but the mods were done to enhance the driving experience and make it a better car than it was when it left the factory.

The body work done on the car? Well, it got a new fender and a new front bumper. That a paint job that is far superior to what was on the car when it left the factory. I have owned a brand new 2001 Bullitt and I bought this one in mint condition with 5600 miles on it, so I am aware of Ford factory paint on these cars. The quality wasn't bad - in fact I thought it looked pretty darn good before it was stolen. But the difference in quality between the paint on this car now and the original paint is significant.

Again, I appreciate the feedback.

Good that they replaced the fender and front bumper, definite positive for the new owner.
