Hopefully will be joining the ranks here soon. Just purchased a 2001 White CVPI (former Montevideo, Minnesota Police cruiser) from Cheyka Motors which is located in Wisconsin. The CVPI will be shipped via truck and should arrive in Cincinnati in the next two weeks.

My first Crown Vic Police Interceptor, a 2001 in Vibrant White with a light gray interior. Very straight car body wise but had a serious water leakage problem that would flood the rear interior floor pan. Unknown leak entrance location. Cheyka Motors was cool enough to take this car back at full purchase price and let me pick out another CVPI from their lot.

This CVPI is a former Montevideo Police Department cruiser, Montevideo, Minnesota.

Art, you should see some of the reactions I get from citizens when driving the CVPI...like driving 55 mph down I-71 with 30 vehicles stacked to the rear refusing to pass. Hilarious.

Collin, I know exactly what you're talking about! My mom had a 69 white Galaxie LTD and it looked like a Narc car and whenever I cruised around at night with it, people would actually pull over! Isn't it great?

My second Crown Vic Police Interceptor, a 2003 in Vibrant White with a dark charcoal interior from Cheyka Motors. I drove to Wisconsin in the previously pictured 2001 CVPI and swapped it out for the one pictured below from Cheyka Motor's inventory and then drove it back to Cincinnati. Straight car and no interior water leaks this time.

The 2003's have some pretty cool upgrades...

Straight frame rails for better crash protection. The rails are hydroformed, resulting in improved manufacturing consistency and quality. The frame also supports the new front suspension.

The new rack and pinion steering system provides better road feel and a tighter turning circle. Three turns lock-to-lock means better vehicle control with less driver input. A new variable assist improves parking control and high speed maneuvering.

The entire front suspension is new. Some of the features are redesigned control arms, coil over monotube shocks, and improved toe curves. The new suspension will provide a more positive driver feedback, and help handling and transient roll control.

Monotube shocks are moved outboard of the frame rails to improve the shock motion ratio, and provide more resistance to side skate on rough roads.

For improved brake cooling, the front rotors are thicker, and the rear are vented. A new friction material is used to resist wear, fading, and squealing. ABS becomes standard.

The Goodyear Eagle RS-A Plus Tire has improved wear in service, improved steering feel, and improved traction in rain and snow. They also resist getting flat spots during extended parking periods.

New interior features include a new higher headrest that provides greater support. Adjustable cup holders can accommodate a wide variety of cup sizes. Located below the cup holders, a new power point for additional equipment.

A new variable speed electric fan for engine cooling is controlled by the PCM. A knock sensor prevents detonation from low octane fuels.

A new power distribution box is standard in the passenger compartment and optional in the trunk. It provides ten fuse locations to provide power to aftermarket equipment and signal connections for six key functions.

3-inch wider foot print with new wheels for better handling.

This CVPI is a former Caledonia Police Department cruiser, Caledonia, Wisconsin.

Thanks, Art.

Yes, the "PLL OVR" plates can be transferred for like $6. I still want "WTF OVR" plates but the wife unit is giving me a hard time over it. BOOOOOOOOOOO!

PY,
Can you post pic of the interior with dark charcol. Is it buckets in the front or 60/40 split bench? Cloth or vinyl rear seats? It look real good. I was just lookin at the Chenyk site again today. Man I want either a CVPI or a Marauder as my second car!

Do the CVPIs have the 2V or the 4V 4.6L engines? The photos of the engine bays I could find on the www.usedcopcars.com site arn't close enough for me to see the details.

Can you PM me the details of your purchase?

Thanks!
Dave

Dave, this is the interior, kinda blurry, sorry. The rear is vinyl. Great for punk offspring that like to trash the joint.

Looks pretty cool, Greg.

Boy, that's some pretty dark tint.

Is it legal?

Are you going to save the full wheel covers for spring/summer/fall weather or are you going to run them all year?
