There are a number of folks posting in one of the Facebook groups that mention they will be there. I am looking for an opportunity to get all of the Bullittheads together.

Carlisle and My BULLITT PROGRESS

Well, I'll be there, already made reservations for two nights. My 2009 HG #6498 may not be! My Michelin tires are in but I wanted to replace one rim that's partially scratched. Well, I went to the local Ford Dealer today to order a rim $240...…I'll use the scratched rim as a spare.

However. the parts man told me that the company that delivers his Ford parts is on strike and he had no idea when I would get my wheel. He said their service department is in a mild panic...…….

CJ Pony parts wants $360 for the same wheel.

So. I'll see what's up with FORD or check into a remanufactured wheel.

But hopefully I'll be at Carlisle!

I had a gouge in one of my wheels(on the lip), maybe 1" long. Took a small file and draw filed it at 90 degrees to mark. Then I started with rough sanding cloth and worked my way up to 1000 wet paper, polished it with compound, and blew it in with clear, buffed and waxed.
Total time spent about 2-3 hours.

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Wheels.........

I have considered getting out the sandpaper! There's a ton of you tube videos on fixing wheels but most say use aircraft stripper etc.

I may try sanding and clear coat...……...if I screw it up...…..nothing lost! I'll still need a wheel!

BTW...………….has anyone tried the wheels that are remanufactured???? They are about half the price, but are they safe and do they match the originals?

Take it somewhere who refinished wheels for dealers. Most will charge $75-100. It will look like new.
