I swap out the GT grill for the Bullitt grill from time to time. Let me know what you think. I restored this car about 5 yrs ago, sold it & bought it back last week. I kicked myself when I sold it but now it's home!

Side trim

Ok, my car is going into the paint booth in the coming months. Obviously, there are different interpretations and compromises when making a Bullitt. I am not as concerned with staying 100% true to the movie car (i.e. I will use Dark Highland Green instead of the traditional '68 Highland Green).

But I have a question about two pieces of trim on the sides:
1) Some guys delete the chrome trim in the body panel (rear quarter) just behind the doors. I've pretty much decided that is the rout I'll take as well, but if anyone has done this I'd like to hear your input.
2) Some guys seem to have deleted the chrome "runner board" trim along the lower edge of the door that runs from the front 1/4 panel to the front of the rear 1/4 panel. Some guys appear to have had this painted body color to match. Again, any first hand knowledge may be useful. I would think that removing that trim and filling the holes may be a little labor intensive (i.e. more $$$$).

68 onaments and rocker moldings

Welcome Wsmatau,

The rear quarter panel ornaments on the movie car(s) were painted HG, However, I've left the ones on my car "stock". A minor detail that I've found few notice or care about .

In regards to the rocker panel molding, those too were painted HG on the movie cars. On my car, I removed the Ford originals, bought the cheap reproductions ($66.50 @ NPD), and had them powder coated HG . A durable finish that withstands road debris kicked up by the front tires.

Good Luck on your car...look forward to seeing the finished product

Mike
