Filming the Frisco Flyers: How filmmakers created the famous chase scene

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I found this article on Hagerty's website...

— Car Life magazine, August 1969

The 1968 box office smash "Bullitt," starring Steve McQueen, features one of the most iconic cinematic chase scenes ever, pitting Mustang against Charger on the streets of San Francisco. In its August 1969 issue, Car Life magazine featured an in-depth analysis of the nuts and bolts behind the scene's creation and how filmmakers were able to make movie history without destroying the cars.

Interesting article that I had not seen. Thanks for posting. Now I am wondering what kind of modifications the 2012 Mustang and 2012 Charger had in recreating the SF chase scene in the finale of Alcatraz.
