Fixing exhaust drone

Just got my second B!!
Came with FRP cam, brenspeed tune, new mid pipe and straight piped. Getting some drone at cruzing. My old B had Detroit rockers and KR500 axle backs and had no drone.

Would aloe backs fix this? I have his old mufflers i can put on in the mean time if that will work?

You need something to break up the sound waves. Some sort of mufflers or resonators should help.

Screw drone. It sucks and can ruin a perfectly good ride.

Stock cats still in place? Find an OEM h pipe on craigslist and buy another set of FR500S cans.

Ya stock cats are still in.
Is there a big differenace from what ever H pipe is in it now and the OEM Bullitt?

Stock Bullitt H pipes have a drilled spacer located in the connecting piece. Between that H pipe and OEM mufflers, Ford did this to try & imitate the original Bullitt car's sound.

I'm betting you probalby would notice much w/a stock GT h pipe or shop built H pipe though.

Throw some KR500s on it like you had before. Love mine. Best thing out there. My car was also straight piped when I got it and was the first thing I changed.

FR500S mufflers are the best. No drone, quiet at cruise, bark nicely when pressed.

Oops, I meant FR500s like posted above...off the KR500 Shelby! Absolutely no drone, sound great with acceleration, and will pop/crackle some when you let off the gas. But you can even avoid that if you down shift gently.

A loud resonance tone in the cabin caused by interaction between the car and the exhaust system which can be quite objectionable. It usually happens in a narrow RPM band 2000-2500 RPM while cruising in a higher gear.
