After installing new stop tech sport pads, new front wheel hubs, and getting some fresh DOT 4 I took 4439 out for 6 hours of track time this past weekend.
Mostly avoided the rain Saturday, and Sunday was sunny and perfect. Had some great runs. This was my first time running with Chin and they solo qualified me after 2 sessions.
Only had one bad off at 100+ mph resulting from several factors:
1. Mentally tired, 2nd day 2nd to last session
2. Choosing to accept and continue to pursue pass in to corner instead of waving off
3. BMW should have given an earlier signal and lifted to let me get back on line and not drag race me
On a side note- BFG G-Force Comp 2 all season tires are not as good for the track as my previous Michelin Pilot Super Sports but for $100 I can hardly complain.
Video 1- harassing a GT350R after I let it catch up to me to see if he had gotten any better ( 2 min mark)
good battle with red miata after I let him by for most of mid video
going off road at 100+ mph starting around 11:15 mark
Video 2- A few good clean laps and a good fight with a new Genesis G80 sport resulting in 2 wheels off for me around the 19:30 mark
Video 3- Killing the GT350R. My instructor originally assigned to me is in the passenger seat of the 350, talked to him after and had some good laughs about the 350.
