Is it worth the purchase?

So I'm looking at a 2001 Bullitt that has 47k miles and a Vortech supercharger. The dealership is asking $11,999, it's black. appears to be stock besides the supercharger and maybe exhaust, hard to tell. Just curious to what you guys think? thanks

I would try to track down some history on the car. What's the BULLITT number? Was it registered on IMBOC? How many owners? Is there a CARFAX?
It could be a great car or 47K miles, a quarter mile at a time...ÖÖ..
Black cars IMHO aren't as desirable as green cars...ÖÖ.price seems a bit high.
Do your homework!

Welcome aboard...if serious, ask the dealership if you can take the car to an independent mechanic for a "PPI", a pre purchase inspection. May cost a bit, but could yield info on whether it's a "run away" car or a "buy it quick".

Yeah it's in Ohio and I'm in Kentucky so I haven't been to see it in person yet. I'm trying to get ahold of the dealership to find all the information that you guys have mentioned. I'm trying to get them to send me a video. I haven't seen it in person because of work related issues, I work nights and they're closed while I'm sleeping.

Hey, Kevin Sims, I am in Ohio (southwestern part of the state in Cincinnati). If it's near me, I'd be happy to go take a look at it. Let me know!

I will go check it out and report back. That's about a 30-minute drive for me. Give me a day or two.

IMO that is a decent price. If you consider the car at 47K miles which is very low miles and subtract the value of the supercharger is between 2-3k your getting the car for around 9-10K. I think that is a ok far price. ( Try to find another new edge mustang with only 47K good luck!)

I just bought one Private Party off craigslist completly stock except for (BBK CAI) 2001 DHG with 72K miles about 5 months ago for $7,800. Mine is very clean but does have a few minor flaws. A few rock chips, curb rash on one rim, Tiny tear in vinyl side of driver bolster seat. Not perfect but other than that its very clean.

To be honest, from my experience you are probably going to want the supercharger. No disrespect, I love my car but these cars need the extra power I could only imagine you get from the SC.

I say "go for it" but play down its a Bullitt. You can buy GT's all day long for 5K or less.... and with a SC maybe 8K. Just try to get it a low as you can.

That car is in a tough market.... because, Anyone that wants a Bullitt probably does not want it Supercharged. And most people that want a Mustang are not looking at an almost 20 year old New Edge.

offer 9K or less hope for 11K.

Maybe you like Black? But tell the sellsman its not Green?

Good luck! Keep us posted. If you don't pull the trigger let us know maybe someone else on hear might want it.

Thanks,

david

Well I've reached out to the dealership multiple times via email and leaving voicemails with no response so I really don't know what the deal is.

Just a question... if Black is just as desirable as the Green... where are they all?? Donít get me wrong..I like the Black but prefer the Green as the Original! There a couple around here but not many!

As the owner of a black 2001, I can tell you that sometimes people get tired of the "black sheep" grief we get The color option extends the sales, as we've seen for those who find it attractive and appreciate the fact that it is a lower number produced.
