Thumbs up History.

Hi Guys,
Please can anyone tell me how I go about finding out the history of my Bullitt, eg, where she was originally sold and how she came to the UK. Thank you in advance.

Since you are the only name on the registry for this number, I don't know any way to do it other than backtrack through whoever you bought it from.

Hopefully someone else can chime in here with the current link, but there used to be (most likely it still exists) a site where you can print the original Window Sticker. This will show where the car was initially sent too and maybe the dealer who received it. That would be a good place to start. Also, Ford tracks all service that was performed on the car by a Ford service department. Your local Ford service folks may be able to help.

Hello from another UK member. I remember this car being advertised. Firstly, was the car a personal import to the UK or, like mine was, bought in by a dealer to sell as new in the UK?

So, mine was sold new by Atlantic Sports Cars who were based at the time in Luton. The car was sent from the factory to a dealer in Florida then exported from there. It was never owned or used on U.S roads. Other dealers in the UK who could've done similar are Bill Shepherd Mustang and possibly David Boatwright. Do you not have any form of paperwork with the car to give you a clue?

If it was a personal import then the car may have had use in the U.S. What I did with my previous Mustang that came to the UK in a similar fashion was to write to DVLA and request its history. At the time this was only 5. That gave me all the owners in the UK as well as the U.S title and export documents. The copies aren't great as they come off microfilm.

If you're not already a member of the Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain (there's a forum and Facebook group) or Simply Mustangs UK (Facebook only) then it would be great to see you and the car on there.

Not wanting to hijack the OP's enqiry here but I can tell you my price if it helps.

I bought mine in October last year and paid 18,000 which at the time was about $23,400. Car is in great condition and had 44k miles on it. Only mods are Koni shocks and Steeda springs, which is okay but I do like my cars to be as original as possible.

That price may seem high in comparission to U.S prices but it's a case of supply and demand. There are precious few Bullitts over here, both '01 and '08 so don't come up for sale too often.

Regarding gas prices, it's priced in litres over here. Imperial gallons are 4.5 litres and U.S gallons are 3.8 litres. The cheapest near me is 1.24 per litre, which is 5.63 per Imperial gallon, 4.71 per U.S gallon, or at todays exchange rate $7.09 & $5.93 respectively.
