Bullitt Related Trivia

A little Bullitt related trivia item.

Most of us kinda wished he'd got it back because that's where it belonged.

May be a repost but I don't care

Very cool. He certainly wasnt begging for it back!

SHR lower grill inserts, lots of SHR billet interior parts, but not to much! Custom SHR all black fuel cap with #5550. Painted radiator cover. Factory leather armrest. More to come!....

which is all the more surprising considering there is no real indicator that Steve was truly into Mustangs.
So, his interest probably had more to do with the movie car notoriety and/or safeguarding history.

On that note though, sure wish he had been succussful, considering the guy who has it now is adamant that it will never be seen in public.
Why...who knows.
HoonDog did actually try to solicit him with some options for consideration, for which went wholly ignored.

Sad, that such an iconic/historical car is just wasting away unseen.
He had stated earlier however that he would consider bringing it out into the open, IF a Mustang museum was ever built.

Read some articles abt the current owner, for whatever they're worth, I don't know.... Seems like it could have been offered back to the estate, at least first right of refusal. I'll Never understand why someone would own a piece of history Hollywood or otherwise and choose to get off on hoarding its notoriety.....
There's a bloody corvette museum why the hell there isn't a mustang one is beyond me

No clue what the answer is to this question - maybe you Bullitt movie trivia buffs do.

Is the exhaust note heard from McQueen's Mustang actually from the GT used in the film?
I understand the sound track was recorded off-site somewhere then dubbed in, but what vehicle created that awesome sound in the first place?

My '01 stock exhaust is milquetoast by comparison.

Curious in Chicago.
