And after all that, as some may know, Feroce have started selling an excellent replica for about $315 USD (base wheel only, you have to buy the horn push unit {$180} and column sleeve {$18} to complete it, so $510 USD + postage all up). Available through Scott Drake.

Get your local motor trimmer to cover it in thinly padded black leather and voila! You have a pretty much movie correct wheel. The only thing missing is the FIV engraving, which I suppose if you are a real forger you could have done by an engraver, as their modern machines can do such things well. I imagine the new Feroce horn push is better internally than the old FIV wheel was (mine). They were known for short circuits... (mine is modded to avoid this).

Anyway whilst it make my effort a bit of a waste, it does advance the cause of Bullitt replica makers. It one less obstacle in the way of an authentic replica.
