How many 2020's will be built?

The highest K number 2019 I recall seeing so far is in the high 6000's and given there are an awful lot seemingly sitting on lots unsold, do you think Ford will produce much less 2020's?

If history repeats, yes. The word here was that there are only 629 '09's in green, 181 in black. So, the rarest Bullitt year made. Doesn't reflect in any collectable value tho....the '09's seem to depreciate like the '08's.

But different economic times...there was a recession going on then, car sales were bad.

So you tell me..has the Bullitt market already been saturated? With dealers offering discounts on '19's, maybe so?

To add to the confusion, there are rumblings in financial news sites of car makers having quite a bit of unsold product.

Hopefully a bunch!

There are already 5 at my local dealer sitting unsold. They wanted 10k over sticker when they first came out.

Should drop the price nicely for those of us waiting around for some other fool to take the hit on initial depreciation and let it sit in his garage for a few years then scoop it up for 15k less than what he paid lol.

You did touch on it tho...seems to still be '08-'09 models with extremely low miles being offered by those who bought new thinking they would become valuable and sought after collector cars. That theory didn't seem to work out so well, did it?

Nothing wrong with driving it till you have no use for it, my 2004 model Camry has around 180k and I bought it new, no plans to get rid of it.

Didn't work out well, financially, for my 01's previous owners either.

They put 19k on the car in 11 years. Bought it for 11,500. Have been to almost 20 states and put an unknown number of track miles on it since. Cheap and fun, glad they saved it for me

I'm all for keeping cars long term too. I bought my wife a 2015 Ford Escape in 2017 and once she decides to get another car, it will become mine until it dies (hopefully 20 yrs at least).

If I could buy a Bullitt new right now I would, but with other bills to pay I cannot justify it. Still aiming to get a deal on a late 2020 car still sitting on a lot 6 moths after production has ended. I would love to be the only owner, especially as I plan on keeping the car for life.

There is someone who took delivery of a Bullitt number higher than 7200 just recently! With next year's model going up in price, I suspect people here in the US might snatch them up more, especially as there are deals on them now in our area of the country. I know someone yesterday who got one with MagneRide, car cover, and electronics package for about $47000 with a sticker price of $51K.


There are a few countries outside of North America that could probably take some of the volume we get here and see them sold, based on what I see being posted around in various forums. It is my opinion that there could be up to about the same number produced given the time available, but I am guessing it will be fewer than the already over 7200 produced.


In 2008 and 2009, you essentially were getting a car that started later in the production year that carried over into the shortened next model year with a volume that was somewhat comparable to the 2001s.


Net, if you want a '19, there are deals going on right now of several thousands of dollars off the list price in various parts of the country. It's a good time to buy a new one!

I'm going with "not very many"

I do not know how many there are on the lots everywhere, but I suspect quite a few. I would bet there are more on the lots in this area, than have been sold so far. There are currently 12 on dealer lots within 150km of me, and 7 of those are below 4,000, so they have been there a while. My dealer has 29 mustangs in inventory including two Bullitt's, which are allocations 2 & 3, so they only sold one so far (mine). And Ford Canada recently had a $6,000 delivery credit on the Bullitt, and still not too many moved.

All these youngens claiming to keep their car forever. Currently sitting in my garage is a 1970 Nova SS that I purchased new. Next to it is a 1972 Plymouth Duster which my wife purchased new. I expect the 08 Bullitt will eventually be parked along side these cars. But for now, I drive the Bullitt. Mostly on road trips but it does not just sit there being pretty.

Keep in mind that the 01 and 08/09 cars were produced by Ford under license from Warner Bros. FoMoCo bought the rights to build so many using the BULLITT logo/name.

The 2019 and 2020 come with different agreement, apparently they can build as many as they desire for a set fee per year? At least that is the how it appears to me.
Whereas, the production of the 01 was completed in a rather quick manner with the intended build out of 6500, and the 08/09 were expected to be built out to however many units. But the 08 model year was complete before the number was reached, they then continued production into the 09 MY till whatever the threshold was in the license agreement.

At least that is how I recall the events of past builds.

My dealership is showing 7 on the lot and offering $2500 off msrp. I found out recently that has affected my trade for sure when I was inquiring about 2019 gs corvette.

I'm 36. I have literally only had 1 car that I got rid of due to wanting to get rid of it. Every other car has been taken from me by a bad driver that totaled my car.
