A '19 on the Autobahn

Video sent by a friend. 260 kph equals roughly 160 mph. Probably a moot point here in the USA,
As I experience constantly on my I-5 runs to my favorite pool hall, my speed is limited to the speed of the fastest semi passing a slightly slower one on a 2 lane freeway.

I also noted..top speed the same in 4th, 5th, and 6th. Pretty obvious that speed limiting software was at work.

And if this was a EU spec car its a bit down on power and has a 3.55 rear doesn't it? So it should in theory have a higher top speed than US cars, if not electronically limited.

Anybody know what the USA models are electronically limited to?

162 MPH, officially 160 MPH which converts to 260 KPH.

Same way the 08/09 is limited to 151 MPH. I don't think there was an official EU version of those.

Guess I'll really have to watch my mirrors for a Ferrari coming up fast when caught in a jammed up two lane section of I-5. Sheesh!

Yesterday, shortly after jumping on I-5 to go to my favorite pool hall, I found myself in a slow moving parking lot! Must have been a crash ahead. After 1/2 hour, maybe 45 minutes, of stop & go, my clutch leg was really hurting. Made maybe a mile or so by then, finally reaching an exit that let me find a backroads route back home. I was grateful for that. No way I wanted to sit on that slab for who knows how long until traffic would flow again. So much for our weekly pool playing fun.

This has me thinking the Bullitt may not be my last car after all, despite it having only 30K on the odo.
Suddenly comfort, a good stereo, and an automatic are taking precedence over the little bit of performance my'09 has. Who cares what a car can do top end when stuck in heavy traffic?

Paul, go back and read the TigherHonker giant thread and find out how to go with an Automatic in your Bullitt. Then again, maybe that is more of how NOT to install an Automatic.

Yours could be the Second Bullitt with an Automatic Transmission.

Actually, that is the reason that I was hoping the 19/20 would have an Automatic option. Quite a number of people, in our age range, are getting to a point where an Automatic is almost a necessity.

Sadly true, Jack. In my case, it's more than leg fatigue. The problem made worse because of a snapped tendon in my left foot. I walk with a "floppy" left foot. Makes clutch heel & toe impossible because my ankle won't do as ordered. I've thought of a Mustang GT with automatic, but the '09 Bullitt works well for the way I use it. Mainly 2 lane blacktop and freeway driving. In other words, the car works well for me...except for the difficult clutch work.
Maddening, but there it is.

Uh, I'll pass on following in Terry's footsteps. (pun intended)

Nice. 160 is moving pretty quick. I have heard the 01 is limited to 145 and still has more to go in 4th. Here is a great computer rendering of what it would look/ sound like to go 135ish in the 01. Can attest to the back end getting light over 120 from my time on the track.

Somewhere in the US... In the month of May a '19 Bullitt went 163mph in 4th gear.
The saga continues...
