Question Why Buy a 2019/2020 BULLITT?

So I'm on my third BULLITT...…….2001, 2008, and 2009.

Even though my 2009 has just 13,225 miles on it...………..I keep looking at the new 2019/2020 BULLITT.

I would like to hear some feedback from 19/20 owners about the good and the bad of the new BULLITT.

What options are worth the money? I don't race or track the car...……..

I already know it's the McQueen thing and the unique color...……

I've heard transmission issues with the new cars...……..that cost me a lot of money in 2001 to get the 1-2 crunch fixed.

So any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

IT MUST BE THE GREEN!!!!

First, the bad
* you don't own one

The good
* highest performing Bullitt of the 3 generations in terms of acceleration, braking, cornering
* phenomenal (in my opinion) stock exhaust sound
* MagneRide (if you get it)
* driving modes to change throttle response, steering feel, exhaust sound, and suspension if MagneRide equipped
* great looking "remastered" Highland Green color (shadow black looks nice too)
* fuel economy (especially for a 480hp V8 )

Looks are in the eye of the beholder. The transmission concerns are overblown, in my opinion. Yes, there was an issue with shift forks for the 2018 model year. It's been corrected for 2019.

Some people don't like the action and feel of the clutch pedal but I didn't find it that problematic. You can change the spring and spring perch with Steeda aftermarket if you really hate it.

Some of 5.0L engines are a bit noisy (rattling sound at 2000-2500 RPM at part throttle) from the direct injection fuel set-up, but I've been in Bullits produced later in the 2019 run that didn't have this.

My recommendation is to go drive one and see how you like it. It will feel different than your '08 because of the increased power and the independent rear suspension.

Got to agree with Tony on every point!

I love my '09, but the '19 takes it to a whole new level. The modern touches alone make it a huge difference when compared to your '01 or '08/'09. From what you've said, the '19 Bullitt sounds to be right up your alley! It goes hand in hand with the Clark Kent model that ALL Bullitt's have fallen into: the original '68 GT 390, the '01, and the '08/'09. None of them were the biggest, brashest or baddest mustangs from there era (think of the 428 Cobra engine, the terminator cobra, and the return of the Shelby) but when pushed, the humble, badge-less, dark highland green monsters roar to life with plenty of get up and go!

The 2019's are even coming down a bit on price. I don't think there is a reason to spend more to get a 2020. As I understand it there have been any changes except maybe the built in Ford wifi and an increase of $1k to the base cost. If you are going to get serious about it, I would recommend spending a bit extra for the Bullitt electronics package, the Magne-ride damping system, but skip the premium for the Recaro's.

Why buy one? No real reason I can think of...unless you want one.

Because they’re well balanced and they’re NOT old, slow or obsolete.

First off, I do not own a 19/20 so this is my opinion based upon no facts whatsoever.

If you are interested, try to find a NEW 19. You will have be huge advantage when negotiating the price. Plus, the '20s have the Gas Guzzler tax that the 19 didn't.

Be wary of the Ricardo seats, unless you plan to track it. While you will pay a premium for the seats you will lose some of the power features (on the passenger seat) as will as the Heating/Cooling feature of the standard seats.

Just my 2cents worth (worth less than a penny these days).

I dk man, most s550's I see on track are slower than a old 2001 bullitt.....

I'm going to need a new Bullitt owner to earn a pass on me at the road course before I'm convinced they are anything special.

In all seriousness, if you like the car go get it! Only live once!

And that's it...the best reason for buying anything is if you really want it. All the other stuff is just gingerbread.

Red face A 2019/2020 Yes or No!!

Thanks for the input…….
I haven't seen any negatives so far and there's 2019's out there. I just wish Winter in Pennsylvania was over. Right now my car is buried in climate controlled storage and we had snow flurries today...……..not a great time to trade cars etc.
I'm 60/40 on buying a new BULLITT...……..
I've owned a 2001, a 2008, and a 2009...……..
Don't they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over even though the result isn't great???

Tic, Toc, Tic, Toc...………

Looking...…….
