I have a theory about engine rattle

I think itís oil pump related, and although can be annoying, donít believe it is damaging the motor, seems to be oil pressure/pump related to me, it is the exact same sound my GT 350 made, Ford has said its due to Forged pistons, not sure what the Bullitt has, if it was a serious issue the motor would fail, and they seem to be robust, at least they hold up to my driving, and I put a lot of miles on my vehicles, so Iím just going to stop worrying about it and enjoy the car

There are several noises that people are hearing with the Gen 3 5.0L V8s and various sources theorized for each. The pistons are not forged for the Bullitt's engine but the same cylinder liner technology as the GT350's 5.2L is being used in it.

I think more folks are concerned about the long-term durability because only the "tick" has been identified as a normal operating characteristic.

The rattle sound is more annoying than anything, but it can be bypassed pretty easily by stepping on gas pedal a little more aggressively or turning up the radio
