Talking 19 Bullit, track setup summary.

OK, here it is in 1 page. This is the track set up I would start with. Substitute your favourites.
Fuel: 94 Octane Sunoco, w/4 oz of Lucas Fuel Additive per tank.
Oil: 10 quarts 5W30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic, Mobil 1 or Motorcraft oil filter. (Check trans. and rear axle fluids))
Tires and Wheels: 4, 19" x 10" wide wheels with 275-40-19 Michelin Sport 4S tires (Start with 28 psi) Watch tire wear and rotate tires as necessary. Or run what the car came with.
Brakes: Hawk HPS or HPS + pads, (Follow bedding instructions) Super DOT 4 brake fluid (Remove dust shields, protect front tie rod ends with mini shields)
Alignment: Front: Camber -1.25 degrees, Caster + 7 degrees, Toe 1/32" toe in total (will help wander)
Rear: Camber - 1.00 degrees, Toe +.20 degrees total (Should be a good starting set up)
Other: Oil separator (Ford Performance)
Some sort of air cooling scoop for rear differential. The IRS diffs. tend to run hot without an oil cooler of some sort. All the lube is trapped in the center section, unlike a stick axle with lots of surface area to moderate diff. temperature. An electric, circulating oil cooler is ~$1000, for serious track work. FP has a transmission cooling scoop which maybe could be adapted for the rear diff.?
Closed face helmet, Hans device, 6 pt harness, harness bar or Roll Bar. Leather gloves. (Equipment bag) Dry helmet after each use!
Pyrometer, tire gauge, extra set wheel nuts, torque wrench, jack, tool kit, extra fluids. I usually pack all this in a plastic tote. (except for jack) Food and drinks, cooler, ice, a couple small towels you can soak in the cooler and wring out and wrap around neck to cool off. (Resist soft drinks and junk food) Hydrate.......
Remove all loose articles from car. Small plastic tarp. Rain wear, change of clothes) Hat, sunglasses, sun screen
*Get an instructor, ask for help if you need it. Watch for final session fatigue. Don't attempt to defy the laws of physics. Have fun, come home safe.

I hope to do the Road America event shown here in May. For anyone in the Midwest, this org puts on very good events throughout the year.

Good place to test your brakes, coming into "Canada" corner.

That and entering turn 5 with a downhill braking zone.

And one more thing I thought of. Buy yourself some magnetic vinyl and put your car numbers on big oval pieces. Then you don't have to scrape off shoe polish or whatever they want to put on your car. Most sign shops sell the magnetic vinyl off a roll, by the foot. I used to buy a roll at the beginning of the season and sell it at the track, make a few bucks.
