RHD Bullitt Strut Tower Brace Fitment Issues

I have just purchased a genuine OEM Bullitt strut tower brace as the RHD cars do not have one fitted. If you are going down that route be aware that you will need to grind a section of the brace to make it fit properly. This is because of the driver's side (RHD) cowl C-brace curvature being raised more than the cut out built into the strut tower brace. I imagine this is because the battery has been relocated to the passenger side on RHD vehicles. The cowl C-brace on that side has a lower profile.

If it wasn't for this it would be a 30 min job at max. All you need is a long 15mm socket and a trim removal tool for the plastic battery cover. I also removed the white clip which holds the battery cable off the tower mount and secured with black tape. The LHD cars don't have this at all.

When I escape quarantine I will get some shots if anyone is interested.

Levittownfordparts.com has them on sale for $185.77 USD at present! KR3Z-16A200-A part number.

I remember when the 19s first came out the overseas car did not have the strut tower brace and guys were a little ticked. Your post explains why that was as the modifications to put the brace on right hand drive cars would have been costly and slow assembly times. Just my take. May be out in left field on that theory.
