Nat'l Mustang Museum/Surviving Bullitt car?????

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but I didn't see another place for it, so here goes.

We have all read the articles about the surviving Bullitt car somewhere in the Ohio Valley, or where ever it is. The owner is very private, yada, yada, yada........In two of those articles the anonymous owner is reported to have said he would reveal the car if/when a National Mustang museum was ever established. Well, it looks like that is happening with the groundbreaking rapidly approaching. What are the chances this guy allows the car to be displayed, only if just a temporary display? I'm not holding my breath, but trying to stay optimistic. I would drive from Oklahoma to N. Carolina to see the car if it ever happens.

Something happening like that could trigger a full-on Bullitt Event!

Imagine a full Bullitt Display with the original car sitting in front of a looping video of the Chase.
Also a Replica car, a 2001, a 2008, and the Red Bullitt prototype car.

I'd certainly make a trip to see the museum, and for sure to see the original Bullitt car.

Considering the reputed last responses ever received from this guy, I almost doubt he would follow thru on what he had originally stated.

No doubt it would be a crying shame to see it in its current shape...but...

....here's adding hope to the prospect!!

Re-read the article again yesterday. He also said his son was getting his drivers license and wanted to drive it. Somehow I think he is wealthy as hell or dumb as a box of rocks. If that car hit the auction block the amount would be probably 3 to 5 million. If I wanted a safe place to store it and let people see it, I'd lend it to the smithsonian for display. Do you know how many people would see it then and from all over the world. Plus it would be in a controlled environment and very well guarded. Probably the car has deteriorated by being stored all these years in a non- controlled environment storage including a barn at one time. It may also be he's scared of all the backlash from the car world if he lets the world see it again in a deteriorated condition.

I think that his response to letting it be seen was just a simple way to placate those egging him on to allowing it to be seen. I don't think it is as bad as some would think it is. Being enviormentally controlled is probably a good thing, but if moisture and heat are not an issue in it's storage facility, whatever that structure maybe, it's probably like any other car it's age. The issue is if it isn't used, at all. Everything is probably locked up and all bets are off as to the condition of the rest of the car.

Two defining forces died for you. Jesus Christ died for your soul. The American Soldier died for your freedom.

"It's a lot easier to pacify a country when it's citizens can't shoot back" Gray Anderson, Mayor, "Jericho"

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him had better take a closer look at the U.S. Native-American Indian."
