Better be clear here...I never served. Flunked the Army physical back in '64.

Memorial day is a day for us to remember all who paid the ultimate price. Above is a print made from a photo of surviving Easy Company soldiers visiting the cemetery at Luxembourg. My old pool hall buddy, Sgt. Don Malarkey kneeling at the grave of his buddy, Skip Muck. They are together now...

Two defining forces died for you. Jesus Christ died for your soul. The American Soldier died for your freedom.

"It's a lot easier to pacify a country when it's citizens can't shoot back" Gray Anderson, Mayor, "Jericho"

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him had better take a closer look at the U.S. Native-American Indian."

My dad served in WWII in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific and came home alive and well. I was in the USAF '64-67, in Southeast Asia ('67) and came home alive and well, except for maybe a little dain bramage. My oldest son is an 05 in the Air National Guard and is deploying to the Middle East again in July. I pray that I'll be able to say at the end of his tour that he came home alive and well. God bless our American heroes, past, present and future!!

I had uncles out the wazoo that served in WWII. I had aunts that were "Rosie the Riveter." My dad supervised a war materials plant. It's getting more rare each day, but when I'm lucky enough to run across one of those old geezers with their unit ball cap on, I always take the time to thank them and shake their hand. To me it is an honor. But they are always so damned humble. Greatest generation, for real! We cannot thank them enough.

Take time this Memorial Day to thank God above for these humble heroes!

Amen...most see Memorial Day as a day off work, or Nat'l BBQ Day...need to reflect on the "true" meaning.
