Quick thread today. Changing your serpentine belt is easy, but remembering the routing of the belt is tough. So I have included the routing diagram. Print a copy and keep it with your spare belt in the trunk. You have a spare right?
Tools needed: 1/2 ratchet and flat screwdriver.
1. Remove the two clamps holding the "snorkel" between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. Remove PCV line by pinching clip and sliding it off.
2. Wiggle snorkel off MAF sensor, then throttle body, lift and remove whole snorkel assembly.
3. With your 1/2 ratchet, locate tensioner, left of centre, insert ratchet and push down to loosen belt, pull it off the alternator pulley(top centre) and release tension on tensioner and remove ratchet. *Note how belt wraps around lower pulleys, you will have to wiggle around to get it out and get new one in.
4. Install in reverse order, using diagram for correct routing. Using ratchet again, load tensioner until you can slip belt over alternator pulley.
5. Check to make sure belt is in all grooves on all pulleys. Remove ratchet
6. Re-install snorkel
7. Remove all tools
8. Start engine and check to make sure belt is tracking properly. Shazam, you're done. Save diagram, just in case. (For all you route 66ers, bring an extra belt, if you don't need it someone else likely will)

Many thanks! Printed both out. Now to get a spare fan belt next time I'm at a dealership. Question: Wouldn't a 1/2" drive breaker bar work? I carry one of those as a better lug wrench, wouldn't want to add a 1/2" ratchet to my carry tools unless I had to.

If you have an 01 Bullit, just find the diagram on the internet and keep a spare. The other reason for the diagram is that if you do throw a belt, you won't have a clue as to where it goes.
I just did my 08 belt and I said to myself, "Crap, I can't remember where the belt goes." And, this was 30 seconds after I took the old one off. I have done literally hundreds of belts, so the average owner would be lost, unless you took a picture first.

Fan belt, electrical tape, duct tape, bungies, socket set, portable compressor, jumper cables, nitrile gloves, flashlight, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, plastic jugs, extra oil, coolant, brake fluid, AT fluid, all in sealed containers, wiper rags, dusting cloth, extra fuses, a couple of gear clamps, . Put it all in a plastic tote. Good to go.

Hmmm, Maybe I shouldn't have been so kindly to a Ford dealer. On my way to the retina clinic, stopped in for a fan belt. NOT in stock. Said he could have it tomorrow. Since I live about 20 miles from the dealer, said I'd pass. Figure a much closer NAPA store could get it for me if they don't have it in stock. Oh, there was a dark grey 350GT on the showroom floor. Since I was headed to the medical appointment, I didn't linger long... dunno if I want to buy from a dealership that doesn't carry something as simple as a fan belt anyway.

Dealers don't carry much inventory anymore, since they can get stuff same day or early the next.
You can go on line and see if your nearest NAPA store has the belt in stock. NAPA.com

The problem with carrying spares is where to stop? Meaning, I do carry fuses, but now thinking of adding a multimeter so I can test them without pulling & looking. Hey, an aluminum floor jack would be handy...and on it goes, to the point you're driving a 5,000 pound vehicle...
