What is the TSB for the shift fork number? Seems I destroyed my second gear syncro and I want them to make sure the shift fork is not one of the bent ones. I tried #388's websight but it is not working for me. I hope to get the tranny fixed soon cuase they still have to fix the oil leak... I think its from the passenger side head.... oh oh
5300 miles on it.... thats sad.

"15175 / 2001 Mustang - T-3650 Transmission shift fork bending"
Some 2001 V-8 Mustangs equipped with TR-3650 transmissions built from Feb-2001 to Aug 2001 may exhibit difficulty engaging 1st or 2nd gear. This may be due to an out-of-spec 1-2 shift fork. A new shift fork has been developed to service this condition (2r3z-7230-aa). Remove transmission and follow service procedures detailed in 308-03c for dissassembly and assembly of replacement 1-2 shift fork. Examine 1-2 syncronizer and blocking rings for any damage. Service as necessary following service procedures in 308-03c."

My site is down due to the guy swapping providers...

I use sunset normally, I do not really car for Sinclair. I bitch enough that most of my stuff gets done, except for this last time. I took my Bullitt in for the 1-2 shift grind/clunk and they said it was normal... I said no way. So I just let the syncro's destroy themselves. Now thay can not deny the problem!!! I have read other feed up people say they want a T-56 (I believe its the 6 speed) and it actually cost less. That will be my next move if this doesn't solve the problem. Whan I lived in ST. Charles I had really good luck with Pundmann... I have not been to Sinclair in a while for mechanical work but they had to replace my passenger side ground effect (put on a normal GT at the factory) and when the kid brought it around my wife said all's you could smell was clutch!! (I wished I would have picked it up) So I doubt I will be going there.
P.S. Thanks Mid Life I really appreciate it and your site!
