So I go to pick up my old high school buddy Robyn, who I haven't seen in years. I drive up in my new car (Bullitt 435), she gets in and we hit the road to find a place to have a drink and chat.
Mounted on the dash over that "non-button" next to the trac' control toggle, just below the radio and behind the shifter, I have a small photo of Steve McQueen from Bullitt. A caption below it reads "This car is driven in memory of Steve McQueen. 1930-1980"
When Robyn got in, she saw the picture and said with all sincerity, "Was that an uncle of yours?"
I almost had to pull over, as I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard. She had no idea who Steve McQueen was. I guess to her, my car is just another Mustang.
