Back from our Arizona vacation and a week of driving a Hertz Shelby convert. My findings... The Shelby handled the desert mountain roads well, although it feels heavier than the Bullitt. Performance/acceleration for the Shelby was good, especially the first two gears in the 5 speed automatic. I feel the Bullitt would be right there with it thru the 1/4 mile.
It was great cruising around with the top down...beat the Bullitt there!
The exhaust note is much different than a stock Bullitt, more like a muted bass sound like a new Corvette or 440 'cuda from the old days, not the exhaust burble of the Bullitt or other pre 2005 Mustangs.
Looks....well the Shelby definitely got the looks and thumbs up from people.
Not a bad way to spend a vacation, was expensive to rent,at $750 bucks for a week, which $250 of it was local rental tax and fees!
My wife and I enjoyed the hell out of it!!!!

Sounds like it was worth it. I'll do the same thing if we go on a vacation & need wheels....John R
