I just left a shop that sells parts for older Mustangs, and the owner was lamenting he didn't buy a Bullitt.

He did have a 67 Fastback in front of the store he drives and is interested in selling, however, he told me he had it from good Ford dealership sources that Ford is dropping the Mach I and coming out with the Bullitt again only with the Cobra engine.

Anyone out there heard this rumor, or any Ford people who can definitely dispell?

I have a bit of accurate information as of Decmber 24th., that the Mach 1 project is not dead (don't comment Mr. T, I don't want you in trouble.). How I found out was both accidental and amusing.

Lets just hope the Team Mustang guys are able to get the go ahead to bring this thing out. Oh, and while I am at it, Santa, we want a GT40 too.

Glad to hear that they are not going to
build the Bullitt again! Thanks Mr.T!
It would torque me off since one of the
reasons I purchased my Bullitt was that
it was advertised as a one year production
car. (The MAIN reason I bought one is
because it's a "NEATO RETRO" Mustang)
Should be interesting with the Mach 1.

Thanks again Mr. T for dispelling that
rumor!

Let's put it this way... If there was going to be a 2002 Bullitt, you'd find a class-action lawsuit against Ford with some 5582 plaintiffs (and probably a second lawsuit in Canada).

As for the Mach 1, from everything I've read, it will have the Cobra 32v DOHC engine with the GT solid rear axle.

Dang... If 227 ends up needing a second engine, I want the Mach I

But so far the NEW Engine is doing VERY WELL ... Now it's time to get the 5th trip back to the body shop taken care of so I can just drive the darn thing ...

Thanks Mr. T for the info.

Was at the LA Auto Show this last Wednesday and was disappointed to find out the Mach1 was not there. When asked, they said "they didn't bring it". Oh, O.K.!!!!!
