Has anyone scene a 2002 Mustang with Mach 1000? Most of the trunk is filled with speakers. I only hope the droptop I was looking at was just showing off the speakers by moving them to the middle of the trunk.
Loud music is not worth what you give up for the subs.
On a different note did you notice the net on the ceiling of the coupes to hang stuff from?

Hey 3980-

Did you see it at the Toronto Auto Show? I saw it there as well. I was actually working the booth; they sent some of us from Ontario Truck down there to work (I'm up there on a rotation). I stood next to the Mustangs and F-150's for hours on the first day of the show. It was great to see the reaction on people's faces when I showed them the Mach 1000, since none of them had ever seen such a nice system installed at the factory.
The Mach 1000 takes up a ton of space in the Converti's trunk. Same with the coupe, but you've got a lot more to work with.
It sounds AWESOME, though!!!

I just came from the dealer and they had a 2002 gt with the mach 1000 blasting...it was loud and the bass was powerful. I want it, but too expensive. $1236.00 installed...but I didn't ask how much were the parts without installation. I ask next time..

WE HAVE 5 OR 6 NEW MUSTANGS HERE WITH THE MACH 1000 IN THEM,NO CONVERTABLES YET THOUGH. IT IS A VERY VERY NICE SYSTEM,NOT ONLY TURNED ALL THE WAY UP,BUT AT LOWER LEVELS ALSO! I ALSO LIKED THE CARGO NET ON THE CEILING,IT ISNT VERY BIG,BUT A NICE TOUCH.

I was at Ford service one day and picked up a Ford catalog. It had the Mach 460 and Mach1000 stereos in it. The strange thing was the Mach 460 looked like the one that was in my 2000 GT and the Mach1000 looked like the one that I have in the Bullitt. The 460 had a tape deck w/ CD play but the 1000 only had the 6disk CD w/ no tape. I'm still confused by the whole thing.

The 460 originally came out in 99 was a single CD/cassette combo. Later changed to 6 changer model. If you have a Bullitt or 2K GT with premium sound and CD changer you have the 460.

You're right 369, my '95 GT (same as for '94) had Mach 460 but was AM/FM Stereo Cassette only. The cd player was yet an additional option on top of the Mach 460 and was a separate unit altogether, resting below the stereo/cassette unit. Can you believe that cd unit was around $500 retail for me to add - needless to say, I never did. I thought it was the Y2K model that combined the 2 units into one head unit, like what I have in my Bullitt without the Mach 460 - still a single cd unit, though. Then with 2001 Mach 460 came the in-dash 6-cd changer w/o cassette. Now for 2002, they pair up the Mach 460 with the unit I have (AM/FM Stereo Cassette/CD) and pair the Mach 1000 with the in-dash 6-cd changer. Right? Needless to say, I can't imagine what the Mach 1000 sounds like!!

Yes FRANK15 I did see the Mach 1000 convert at the Toronto show. It sure was neat to see every regular Mustang version(base, base convert, GT and GT convert)all at once. If I was buying a new stang it would have to be that red that all the cars were painted.
It was also cool to have a choice of 4 T-birds to sit in and dream. It was really nice of Ford to give a free photo of my wife and I sitting in that yellow bird. By the time we got there the interior of the car was filthy! I hope whoever ends up with that car gets a new seat cover.

All 2000 Mustangs had a "2 piece" radio, Mach 460 or not, with 1-CD and cassette standard. For 2001, Ford changed that part to be one unit. For all '01 Mach 460s, you have the 6-disc in-dash changer. The standard '01 radio is an AM/FM Stereo/1-CD/Cassette. For '02, there are 4 radio choices (not available on all models)... 1) The same AM/FM Stereo/1-CD/Cassette as '01, 2) $0 upgrade to AM/FM Stereo/1-CD/MP3 (same power as #1), 3) the same Mach 460 as '01 (AM/FM Stereo/6-CD), 4) Mach 1000. The brochure for the 2002 Mustang shows a Mach 460 with an AM/FM Stereo/1-CD/Cassette. That's a misprint.
