Just pulled the following off of Blue Oval:

28 January 2002
Robert Lane

We promised to give you some of the 2003 Mustang Cobra's final specifications before its introduction in Chicago on 06 Feb 2002.

The 2003 Cobra will simply be called to as the "Cobra". Ford chose not to use "Terminator" name as it may depict too much violence. Ford was also concerned that it may have been forced to pay royalties to the creators of the Terminator movie, like they did with the Bullitt.

BlueOvalNews ran a poll to see which motor Mustang enthusiasts thought the 2003 Cobra would use. 47% thought that Ford would continue using the 4.6L 4V Cobra engine and they were right.

Our second question, how much horsepower and torque will the Mustang have? 16.3% said 390 and that is correct. A lot of enthusiasts wanted 400 horsepower, but Ford made a substansial jump from the current 320 and they should be applauded and commended.

We've already disclosed that the 2003 Cobra will use the T56 six speed manual and an Eaton Generation IV SuperCharger.

We are hoping to publish more information shortly.

Hate to burst your bubble but the Blue Oval News is 90% crap...a step BELOW the National Enquirer.

If they're that much crap, how come Ford sued them awhile back to stop publishing inside info?

Ford sued to stop them from publishing ERRONEOUS information which they CLAIMED was inside information.

Actually I think that button is the convertible top switch.

Hmm...looks like they decided to do something with the Bullitt Concept's spoiler, after all...

I dig this car! The Cobra's a little out of my range, but it's nice to see Ford taking it in this direction. I think the next Cobra should have the 2003's performance without the supercharger. :0

Did anyone else take notice that the new Cobra has stolen the Bullitt pedals?!? (Fourth pic down) At least the parts will be available in the future

That spoiler does look suspiciously like the Bullitt concept spoiler... Maybe once the parts are available someone will do that mod (won't be me though,)
