3230 is headed to Modular Power House this week.
I'm an old motor head...and prefer raw NA power to the point of shaking the teeth out of your head at idle. So....here is the planned recipe for 3230's rebirth:

302 stroker
Manley forged pistons & rods
steel crank
Federal Mogul bearings
ARP Main studs
ARP head studs
Moly rings
custom flycut pistons
10:1 compression
CRYO treated FRPP oil pump
custom grind cams
Comp valve springs
Race prep'd ported/polished heads
BBK ceramic long tube headers
VRS aluminized mid pipe
Aluminum flywheel
Spech stage III clutch
90 mm maf
JLT true blue CAI
Focus fuel pump
36# injectors
SCT custom 4 bank chip
MPH custom tune
Transmission rebuilt with cryo treated gears
Team Breed cast aluminum cam covers, of course

Preliminary estimate, emissions legal with 350hp at the wheel.

Tulsa, here we come!!!!!!

From the looks of that list it should be a very stout motor. 1543 is going to have an 03 cobra block based motor when she comes out in the spring. Good luck with it.

that sounds freaking hot! :drooling:
gonna be a very strong performer... I'd love to build up a motor like that

just a question though...
have you thought about attempting a 5.4L swap?
You'll pick up a considerable amount of additional power. Main problem though is hood clearance. As the motor is 1.5in higher I believe, and then the 1in adapter plates for our intakes. I wonder if there is a lower crossmember for these cars yet?

I thought about a lot of options.....swapping with a 5.4, a Cobra 4V, blown, etc.
But, in the end, I wanted a strong NA mil, and, even though the internals may be well beyond stock, the engine bay will still 'appear' relatively stock Bullitt.
There is a Cobra 4V Bullitt in my MCA chapter that is pretty radical churning 470 RWHP/484 RWTQ.....and I am DROOLING over Brians TB dual turbo build up at MPH...
but....this is a good decision for 3230

Dee,
Actually....I was hoping that it would be done before the shootout in April...would have given me a great excuse for a long road trip to break her in real good before taking her racing at the Nats.
It's affirm for the Nats....but was really hoping for a Texas road trip.
It will be REAL close....Tim at MPH wants 6 weeks as compared to his normal 4 week quote. But................. :)

Ah! But you left out the kitchen sink! Sounds like a real strong combo. I may do the same one day,on a different block.

No updates on the engine. Still in machine work.
Tranny just sent to Pro-Motion in Florida for the rebuild.
Cyro treated gears, 26 spline input, custom gear ratios (taller 1st,
with closer ratio 1-4, and .5 fifth) to better match 420hp and 4:10 gears.
Unfortunately will not be done by the Shootout though.
