Best road test I have was a 1968 Mustang 390 2+2 GT. 0 TO 60 in 6.3 sec. 1/4 MILE in 14.8 sec. at 94.6 MPH. Rear ratio was 3.25. Price as tested..$3951.92.....What a deal! What helped the Mustang survive it's competition was the later release of the 428 CobraJet option. Even though the HP was rated the same 335 HP,the CJ was the sleeper, putting out more like 400 HP. So I guess the Bullitt can well hold it's own!

I sold my 69 390 s-code mach-1 to help finance the bullitt... it was100% bone stock
with a 4 speed and 3:25 rear. She ran a best of 14.27... twas a hell of a car but I am more than happy with my bullitt.I have yet to have her at a track seriously but she is much more liveable on a daily basis , lots of low/mid range power .the mach definetly had more top end pull though
I know between my 68 and my Bullitt my 68 stang kills it in the quarter. Then again its not stock, ran 12.70s @113 with street tires. Gotta love a 351 Cleveland with a 4 speed and 3.89 gears!!! So far only got the Bullitt to run 14.10s @ 99. That is when it only had a few miles on it. I'm sure i can get it into the 13s now.
