Okay, I haven't owned them all, so we'll open it up to the Friends and Family plan:

1. 1975 Pontiac Astre GT. Bought used in 1980 for $1500. Simply wretched.
2. 1989 Corvette Convertible. Bought new. All 245 bhp of it. Wretched but new.
3. Diesel Chevette. Don't ask me what year. Friend in Ft Sill had it, 1986.
4. 1969 Nomad Wagon. Our 'second' car when I was a kid. Exhaust came thru the air vents. And, no, this wasn't the cool Nomad from the '50s. 6 cylinder automatic turd
5. Any Chevy Cobalt
6. The Gremlin X w/"Levis" licensed interior trim. My neighbor in Flint had one. I thought it was cool. I was 8. I don't know what his dad's excuse was.
7. Early '80's Dodge Aspen rebadged as a Roadrunner. My uncle had one. Pathetic.

1. 1977 camaro...bought new...was a piece of junk

2. 1997 chevy truck....bought new......at 8k miles the front end went south

3. 2003 ford truck....F250 4x4....diesel......bought new.....biggest junker i ever had

1974 Alfa Romeo Convertible. Towed in about once a month. Paid $7500 and sold it one year later for $4200. That was a large loss back then.

1978 Triumph TR7 coupe. Door fell off.

1979 Chevrolet Corvette L82 Seat had a folding hinge that continuously jabbed me in the kidneys. Literally made me sick some times.

84 Ranger with an I-4. Fully loaded, I couldn't go faster than 45 up a hill.
69 Dodge pickup. Rattling suspension and it would throw you through the rear glass when it shifted to second.
Okay, I think I've only owned like 10 cars in my life.

the WORST cars I have ever owned were chevy's......

Vega....in my college days....that car did more to drain this earth of oil than any vehicle in history....worst designed engine ever.....

first edition Blazer (85)....I had a love/hate relationship with that thing...but in the end that #(%&#@%&%&@# frickin 2.8 V6 had a horribly designed intake which was attached with vertical bolts and constantly opened up draining coolent into the crankcase.....2 engines in 85k....ya....no thanks

I forgot about our PT. It's not really a bad car, but its get up n go reminds me of the Ranger.

I've owned a lot of cars since I'm an "old fart" . Most have been Ford products that I've enjoyed.

The three worst:

1] 1974 Chevy Vega GT wagon. First year it was fine and served as my tow car when I raced SCCA Formula Ford. This was right after the first gas shortage,hence a four cyl tow car.
The next year I drove it to California from NY and something happened after it crossed the Rockies,. The engine lost all life and everything started to fall off.


2] 1984 Audi 5000 S. The famous "unintended acceleration" Audi. That killed resale value so I held on to it for 10 years, the last four serving as a station car.

Steering rack shot at 24,000 miles should have warned me- by the time I sold it for $1,600 hardly anything worked - anything electric and every nit picking item from hood struts to door openers, sunroof, air, on and on and on.
Ah, German engineering.

Dispite all this the car looked great up to the end and is still one of the best highway cruisers I've owne .

3] 1965 MGB - By the time this car was 2 years old I was speending most wekends at a foreign car junkyard buying parts.
They had a coffee cup with my name on it I was there so often.

Cute and cheap in our poverty days, but it didn't last long.
Absolute worst!
The 1971 Pinto wasn't much better.

I've got only one.

1985 Ranger, 4x4, V-6, 5 speed, gray. Gray paint back then started falling off about the time the 1 year warranty ran out, I bought spray cans of gray to sort of kind of keep it looking good, now that I think about, should have gone with the camouflage look. Engine was a German, still had carb but with other computer crap on it, liked to quit on me when I let off the accelerator in the winter when it was damp out, hard to steer and brake effectively on slippery roads :scared: Ford couldn't figure that one out, even after they took lots of my money. The transmission was a Mitsub*tchy :smile:, bearings went out at 60,000 miles. Had rebuilt, they could only put back in Japanese bearings, no USA sources, :frown:, transmission bearings went again at about 115,000, I drove until it got so loud in the cab I couldn't stand it, also I could feel the input shaft moving when clutching it. Donated to Hennepin Technical school for Tax purposes, figured it would keep them busy studying it and learning for years. :nerd: :lol:

Only bad Ford that I owned was a 67 Custom 500. I threw more money at that car than I care to remember. Having said that, I still miss driving it. 289 HiPo that I built up from a 2 bbl slug. It could fly! At least when everything was working.

The others are the typical GM steaming piles:
1973 Chevy Cheyenne Super C10 with 454. Thing couldn't pull the fur off of a mouses' back.
1984 Pontiac 6000 STE. Does Chevy Celebrity mean anything to you? POS, both of them.
1986 Buick Century Station Wagon. Another Celebrity with some badge engineering. POS for the third time. I got this with my wife. She's the keeper, the car was tango uniform after just two years...

Of over thirty cars, including a Rambler ;-) and an old Dodge truck . Four bad ones aren't too bad, especially if you consider I didn't pick out or buy one of them. :lol:

You're probably right about the PT. No power. Our's has never been the same since my son rear ended someone in it. Can't wait to lose it. We offered it up in the driveway for Ike but apparently the storm had some smarts.

I had an olive green 72 Pinto Wagon that was a real POS but it ran like a champ with a new timing belt and clutch. I only paid $500 for it.
