Yes, it happened to ME! I had nothing but fear after reading about each and every wreck we've had with our members and three hours ago, it happened to me and True Blue #4841. I left my house to go run an errand. I was the next street over from my house when a truck hauling a U-Haul made a turn in front of me....that was fine...however, his wife was following him and she went ahead to make the turn also, with him...she did not look to see if there was a car coming (that was me)...she just decided to make the turn with her husband, right behind him and in FRONT of me!! All I saw was a big car coming straight for me....she had started to turn, saw me and kept on going, then stopped right in front of me! I was two feet from hitting her passenger door when I slammed the brakes on and swerved to avoid hitting her. I don't KNOW why, but Bulletta skidded and I slid to the right and right into a street pole. I thought it had hit me dead center and had "V'ed" my front end....I immediately called 911 on my cell phone, then called my husband at home,he was there in 2 minutes....I could practically see the back of my house from where the accident happened. At least the lady did pull in behind me and stop...it was the least she could do. Odd thing is..her and her husband had JUST arrived in the city after driving two days from Florida to move into a house on the street they were turning into. I just cried my eyes out and was too afraid to look at the car. Hubby went and looked and told me it really wasn't that bad. The airbags did not deploy, I hit at about 30mph, to the right of my license plate (if you are sitting in the car, to the right). But, I knocked the pole down and ran over it. I keep saying I should have hit her, but that would have been more damage to the car and more damage to me. I'm OK, but have some pretty severe neck and shoulder tightness/spasm.

I'm most upset about Bulletta. I dreaded reading about all the accidents our members have had and wondered if there was a curse. My heart is aching for Bulletta....I know all of you can understand, even those of you fortunate and blessed enough not to have had experienced this. It's a very sad feeling.

Thank God for that tough bumper.....it must have been hard (tough) enough that I didn't break the pole off and it didn't even dent in....just took all the paint off that area of the bumper and broke the bottom...I guess it's the "ground effects" where the holes for fog lights would go, so she needs a new front bumper. But, she needs a new back bumper too from damage that was there before we bought her....so, get it all done at once, I hope.

Well, I'll quit rambling...I really am thankful nobody was hurt badly.....I just am very angry at idiot, inattentive drivers...see what happens???

Sad Bubbles.....

Dona,
Sorry to hear about your accident but I am glad that you are alright. The Mustang bumbers can take a lot and I know that from experience. Take care, stay calm and get it fixed you'll be back on the road enjoying "Bluetta" in no time.

Dona, I am so very sorry for you! I almost cried when I read your post. You seem like such a nice person. Body shops these days are magicians, hopefuly you will never know it was hit when it is repaired. Hang in there, it could have been a lot worse.

Dona,
Glad you are ok. BUT you really need to find a better way to meet the new neighbors.
Least it doesn't sound too bad for getting repaired. Take your time finding a good repair place and talk to people that have had work done where you decided to go first.

Yeah, these Mustang bumpers are tough. I hit another car that was stopped at about 40mph in my 5.0 and all it did was pop out the fog lamp and knock off some paint.

I'm glad that you are okay and the Bulletta.

This is just terrible.

Dona, I am SO sorry to hear your news.

I've said this before...be thankful that you are not injured...but THIS IS NOT JUST A CAR...it's your BABY.

That is exactly my worst nightmare. And just like your accident, I know it's not going to be my fault...but rather some careless driver not paying attention.

Take care...you know we all understand what you're feeling/going through.

Hang in there Dona. I'm glad no one was badly hurt, though you may feel your neck a bit more tomorrow (that's been my one experience with whiplash).
Look at the bright side...After the bodyshop works their magic on Bulletta you can have the car repainted black

Very Very sorry to hear about the wreck Dona. Hope you heal up OK. At least the damage was contained to the bumper area, and not any sheet metal damage. Hope your Bullitt gets repaired correctly without too much hassle.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, Dona. I am glad to see you did not get seriously hurt, although tomorrow you might be feeling more aches and pains. I feel your pain, and I know exactly how you feel right now. But once you take Bulletta to a TOP-NOTCH body shop and get her fixed up, you will feel a lot better. And nobody will ever know. Best of luck.

Dona, don't worry about the car. Go see a doctor tomorrow and get a referral for some physical therapy. Once your well then pay some visits to a few high end body shops in your area. We will be thinking about you.

I agree with everyone.....at least your not hurt. Even though it is a Bullitt... It is also just metal and plastic....easy to fix. No worries. I have also been a little unfortunate. I was driving home one night south bound 101 and thier was a low spot were it was kind of foggy. I had my cruise control on and I reached down to change the radio station. I mean not even for 2 seconds. When I looked back in the road their was a huge dish washer right in the middle of my lane. I quickly yanked the wheel and luckly came out with a minor scratch on the left side of the front bumper. It is a deep scratch about 8 inches long. Maybie I can touch up paint it. Then on new years day I thought my luck was ah changing. But that day right after I told my friends that I was driving out to the ocean when all of the sudden this little fawn (deer) ran out into the road. Thank goodness the deer out hear are like dogs. I hit it right in the face with the pony of my in front of my bullitt. No damage just blood and fur everywhere. In texas I would of even had some dinner J/K. But a CHP officer stopped and asked if there was anything he could do. and then he started to check out my car. and the last story I have and I was wondering if I could get the gas station to pay for it since it was their pumps fault... I was getting gas when the pump stopped because the tank was full. when it stopped the pump shot out of the gas tank and spun and hit the fender of my car putting a ding an inch above the gas tank...I was p*ssed. Do you think I can get some compensation
