A stupid kid with a fast car...

Dakota (myself) and 1510 have joined the 160mph club... This of course took place in Mexico. Biggest adrenaline rush in my life, man that KB was screamin' it's head off. I've got a pic too that I'll try uploading here! I made sure that no one was around for a couple miles either direction and that the road was flat. Never been so impressed with my B, it was a champ! I estimate this was 160mph because of my speed needle bouncing off the ticker, lol. I want to make it clear to everyone that I did make sure there was no one around within sight period. The radar detector was on, it was about as safe as could get terrain-wise. And, I most likely wont' be doing it again due to the insane feeling of insecurity. I realize that if anything were to happen to me it would be my stupidity alone that got me hurt.

P.S. How do you get pee out of leather?... J/k, but not by much!, lol.

good that you did this in "Mexico", i hear they don't mind much of that type of driving...

they probably figured you were a nice American on the way out with another load of illegal aliens to deliver back to Oklahoma!

Looking at your tach your car is at least mathematically capable of 180+mph speeds. Drag may prevent that as well as becoming airborne and the sudden rush of common sense, but the picture shows 150 at 5000 rpm so clearly there was more there. It must have been a rush!

Haha, yes I did, I preset my phone to take a picture, then kicked it in, I didn't care what the picture looked like as long as I got the speedo in it! I was so freaking terrified at that point I just threw down the phone and started to gently apply the brake. It was easily the biggest rush in my life. I think I could have gone a little quicker but the car was starting to shake as the speedo was bouncing. I took the picture with my foot about 1/2 of the way in the pedal so I may have slowed down a little before I actually got the phone to snap a shot. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with stock suspension, lol.

Come to think of it the pic is quite blurry....maybe you should try it again.

Lol, it adds to the effect. Because everything I saw around me was somewhat blurry I felt you all would want the effect as well! Haha, I don't think I'll be doing that again for sometime, it was fun, but one small bump and I'll wish I had a rollcage...

Only had my B to 140 mph....an...only once....that was fast enough for me.....

BTW did i mention that at THE speed my hood scoop started to flutter a little bit and i was on a long straight stretch of 4 lane hwy in iowa, the only other cars around were a 03 mach1 and a 2000 corvette that i was waaayyy ahead of. :bigguns:

You won't forget that experience for a long time! I don't have enough power in my B to run that speed, but I went 180+ on a modified sport bike I used to own. 180mph is fast as hell when you can see the ground rushing past under your feet! I imagine 160mph in a car street car is quite exhilarating!!!

BE SAFE to anyone motivated to go for it on the street! There are NO small mistakes at that speed.

Lol, I got some shaking at that speed too! I think it may have been my hood scoop, but I didn't really care to investigate at that speed. I won't go that fast again without a lowered car for sure. I would like to get a Cobra to around 170 when I get one, but only under the same conditions. My neighbor has a Hybusa that he's gotten to 180+, I can't even imagine.
