It seems the general consensus is that VT, modular performance, and Boss330 do the best with modular engines. That is not to say others don't do a good job as well. I had a local builder do mine and have been pleased (except he made the compression too high).
I have a D.S.S. promod longblock in my car now and am seeing 13-15 psi boost and the motor is stout, I drive the **** out of it and have no issues. This is in fact my second motor from D.S.S. First one was a short block. They make an awesome motor for the money and have been used by Mustang 5.0 and MM&FF in a few of their projects with great results.
