Put my Bullitt on the lift today... when I was opening the Fill Scews to check the transmission /rear end oil the was a "air sound " ... like opening a vacuum box. Checked the rear end "pressure drain valve"...it as o.k. no dirt..."free flowing.
But couldn´t find a "vent " at the transmission... the transmission also should have a vent ...right ?
Any ideas ?

Thank you Juegen

@ short circuit. Thank you for your advise.

but where comes the vacuum from ...or in other words if there is no vent - one day the seals will fail. I have also two classic Alfa Romeo - both have transmission vents. And if they are clogged...the oily mess takes place - on the garage floor

The rear case seal on the transmission will eventually fail. It will not leak much but you will see it on the crossmember/trans mount.

The rear end should not if the cover is sealed correctly.

from my experience these cars leak most oil at: front crank seal, valve cover, oil pan and transmission case. Not so much at rear main.
