Well, since people have asked computer questions, here's another one... How does one go about removing the Macromedia Flash 5 plugin out of IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.79 under Windows 2000-SP2? Flash used to be a cool way to display graphics & animation on webpages. But ever since M$ stopped including Java support with IE6 & WinXP, ads have gone to Macromedia Flash. Two problems with this: 1) the Flash ads are getting more and more intrusive (i.e. click this button to reduce the ad size so you can read the stuff under the ad), 2) Flash uses way too much CPU time (way more than Java does to do the same thing), and multiple ads on a page can bring my 300MHz PC to its knees--especially with Winamp playing in the background...
Personally, I'd rather keep the Flash plugin and be able to "turn it on and off" as I'd like... (If a pop-up ad killer program could do that, I'd love to hear about it). But if I can't have this ability then I'd rather not have Flash. Any ideas???
