I heard theres a new mustang coming out this year. its called the terminator. i heard their going to have somewhere around 400hp. can anyone verify this? if its true that kinda sucks

they've been talking about it for several months now!
but with Ford just anouncing ANOTHER 5000 people they're planning to lay off this past Monday (in addition to the 8000 they announced a few weeks ago).......NOTHING is certain right now!

DOHC 4.6 with a roots-style intercooled supercharger similar to the Lightning. If it makes it to production this model year expect to see it debut at the Detroit Auto Show. With the economy like it is, I give it a 50/50 chance.

Expect it to be expensive, and when it makes it to production expect a different name (Terminator was just the project's nickname).

I think Ford will either make the Terminator or the Mach 1. I can't imagine that there will be a large market for both cars, though they will be in very different price ranges.

I believe they will make both. I guess nothing is for sure.... but it looks like the Mach 1 is a go for early next year and the Boss is on tap the following year. If and when the Terminator comes out, it will be SVT's decision most likely. Basically a special addition Cobra. For almost $40,000, i can't imagine too many people rushing to get one. It is mean looking, though.

My opinion is that if they do the MAch 1 it should be like the bullitt a limited production, As for the Terminater, it would be a bad ass car but for now, its just a concept. It would be nice though, any word on the Saleen extreem?

Check out the Dec. issue of Popular Mechanics. They have a write up about the Terminator in the Detoit Spy Report section. It Says "Ford will introduce Terminator, the last in a series of special models of the Mustang, in 2002 as a 2003 model." Supercharged 4.6 liter DOHC V8 around 400 Hp and a 6 speed manual.
