I just bought my bullit at the end of september and about to third day I started to hear this ticking sound. I dont know if it was always there and maybe i just noticed it or what? its kinda like a really fast ticking sound when i put it in a high gear to save gas. Like if im driveing 50 or 40 and i put it in 5th and i give it about 50% trottle i hear it go ticking really fast. Ive never had a mustang before so i dont know if its normal. it sounds like the belts or somthing but its not really that noticable. write me back let me know anybody

If you are only going 40 or 50 mph, stay out of 5th gear. These cars are geared so tall that 60 mph is the minimum for 5th gear usage.

I suspect what you heard was pinging, or pre-ignition, from lugging the motor.

Hey, Norman, my dealer told me to keep the RPM's up in the break-in period especially. I know the tendency is to take it easy on a new car but not TOO easy. After the first 1K miles it should be better.
