Check with Max Cruz. He just installed a 100 shot in his car about a week ago and I think that he loves it.

Yeah....that NOSzle system is like $2,000.
The guy who installed my gears and Diablo chip was telling me to get it...said I have so much torque that I'd eat a vette for lunch. I was wanting a TDC stage II kit...but I don't know now...I saw the ProCharger with the intercooler in this months 5.0 and it made me drool. So what am I too do...Turbo, Supercharge...or NOS.

I kinda like the idea of arming the NOS then hitting the love juice button...and then again...the Turbo and SC is there when I need it and doesn't need to be refilled.

Too bad no one makes a SC with a compressor that kicks on with the push of a button or flick of a switch...it would be so fun.
We have these cooling units at work called ACE's that have a compressor that you switch on for cooling..and I think something like that would be sooo cool. Someone make me one...LOL

Anyway..what do you guys think?

John

BTW...got my aluminum DS in today..hehe

Go to the NOS XPRESS Website and the Direct Port system is just shy of $500, I think that is probably the best deal. It's also a set-up that is shown installed on our factory intake in Hot-Rod Mag.

I was interested in NOS too, I went to the local speedshop last Friday to look into it just because I had NO idea how much it would cost, He recommended a kit from a company called "ZEX" I think thats the only brand he carried. He told me he wouldn't go over a 100 shot, the motor will handle a 125 but he said it may cause premature wear and tear and I would probably use it every chance I got ( and he's right!! ) He said if it were his car he would only put on a 75 shot that would not hurt the car in ANY way.. and since this is my very first NEW car ( I've never owned anything newer than a '85  ) I plan on having it for a LOOONG time and want to make sure I don't have to put a new motor in it a few years from now ... I decided (for now) to just get exhaust and a custom chip (to satisfy the "mod-gods" ) I am leaning towards a Bassani X-pipe cat-back system and a superchip ....maybe NOS after that ( if I need it )

Hey Joe,
ZeX NOS is good stuff, I didn't know they made systems for the 4.6, I got an NX system due to various recommendations from different people that are nitrous junkies, they said that with the NX system, they actually got the HP that NX claims, note that NX does their tests at the rear wheels and that's how they tweaked the settings. From what I was told by these nitrous junkies, NOS and the rest gets you about 20% less than what you think, it may be because they do their dynos at the engines for the settings you put.

Over all, every system out there is good, they have almost identical kits and the prices are very close too. I found a place here in Dallas that are experts in nitous and they have no complaints from any system.

Once that 100 shot kicks in, hang-on, you'll be beating Cobras, Trans-Ams, Camaros and Vettes (except the Z06). It's a lot of fun!

And also, about not going over the 100 hp shot, stick with it, don't get greedy, it's proven that doesn't work well with our modular engines, specially in ours with the metal intake. The regular GT's will blow their plastic intake in to pieces, which is good, since they can replace theirs with a couple of hundreds, but the Bullitt and Cobra intakes will handle it and the system will find the next weak link; your pistons.

Saleens handle good shots of up to 250, they have everything forged, man those are strong motors!

Have fun!

hey i'll tell ya what to do Turbo charge that sob and also add some juicy nos to it just make sure to have some new pistons and crank put in, but if i had to choose 1 i'd say go with a turbo "THEY SOUND SO SWEET AT 3500 RPM'.
