I thought this one was good because the person writing the article picked the Bullitt over the Cobra.

I don't know what else this guy has been testing but, 320 horses from the Cobra is hardly meager. Otherwise, I think he understands what the Mustang is all about. A good review. Thanks 2764.
Y2K, what year is your AMX?
Not too surprising when you look at it. After all what are the differences?

We got the same seats.

We got the same brakes.

We got upgraded handling.

We got that rumble tuned exhaust.

We got darned near the same torque and probably more down low.

What don't we have?

We don't have four valves so our top end is limited.

We don't have four cams which really does not matter with a 6000 RPM redline anyways.

We don't have IRS. You can debate whether this is a good thing or not.

And finally we have an extra $6000 in our pockets.

I think we got the better end of the stick.

Overall, a good article. Of course, the reason his "steel shift ball" heated up in the shade and stayed hot is because its aluminum, duhhhhhh!
yeah...it's aluminum...but that's hardly a reason it holds heat forever over steel. That sounds real familiar "yep...the problem with all that heat is it's aluminum instead of fast cooling steel...duh." It's hot because is metal...period.
I have always lusted after Mustangs and American Torque. I have never been turned on by these small nimble thimble thingiedingies from Japan.

These journalists all want to compare the MUSTANG to these hot little cars that I have ZERO interest in buying. There is no comparison!!
Oh, but the article was still pretty good.

Thanks for the link..

I am sure the author, Beth Stein, would be pleased that you noticed that she is not a man

I don't get her objections. I think the seats actually fit someone my height (5'5") quite nicely. I don't have to reach to shift-well, just a little to shift to 5th. And even though I drove my car to work last week in the sweltering heat, my shifter knob never got hot enough that I couldn't touch it. I think these reporters try to find something negative to say, like the article wouldn't be balanced if it was all positive.

GDammit!! I hate Beth Stein.

When the Audi A4 was introduced, the press loved the car for what it was... a German sedan for under $25k.

She complained that the turbo engine was underpowered. She'd been in too many M3s. Then she gets all hot over the grocerybag loops in the back of a minivan.

I cannot stand her. Her reviews are pointless and when she's on the TV, I'd rather kick it in than listen to that pure horses---!!!

How she got a job as a auto reviewer dumbfounds me. Stick to reviewing trash compactors.
