Please fasten seatbelts.
*RANT AHEAD*

This forum is for Bullitt owners to express themselves. It states quite clearly in the Registration Agreement that flaming of Bullitts or Bullitt owners is strictly prohbited. Those rules apply to EVERYONE. You have an opinion and are entitled to it, however so does everyone else. If you would like to take an opposing view feel free, however we DEMAND that you show respect and not flame the car owner merely because you don't like what they've done, or plan on doing, with their car. This type of childish behavior has already cost us one member who could've proven to be very valuable source of info and an asset to our club. If a member asks for an opinion on something they're seriously considering doing to their car feel free to give your opinion, but flaming of that person will NOT be tolerated. The object is to help them make a decision about modding their cars and HELP them. This is why we're here. If a member wants to put a 5ft wing on the back of their Bullitt feel free to state that you don't care for the way it looks but by God we should all be wiling to help that person so at least they do the job right. We're all adults here lets try to act like it.

*End rant*

Thank you.. The fasten seatbelt sign has been turned off, please feel free to roam about the cabin.

what about the no smoking sign?

all kidding aside, i have to agree with Blakwing. we can express our opinions and comments without trashing each other. respect and human kindness and consideration should be given to all members. if someone gets out of line,...please notify a moderator and we'll look into it!
the very least we can do (as i've read here so many times) is "agree to disagree"
thanks to all of you guys. i'm fortunate to be a member here!!!

Thank You. Honestly, I've stayed away from this sight a great deal of the time because of the conflicts I've read. Nothing turns me off faster than to read negative comments. Sometimes I choose not to post simply because I don't want to get into the middle of a useless fight.

I have to get something off my chest: I posted a message about the guy and his flames on the bullitt, which I think that what this is about. I think what i said came off wrong and would like to state an apology to anyone it offended..I had some replies about some things i did on my car, that lots of people didnt like. I took it well and just said oh well. I dont think this directed at me, but i would just like to say that I love this forum and visit it all day at work and at home at night. I dont want to help run anyone off of this site..thanks kelly

Kelly--I do not think it was your reply that hurt the flames bullitt owner. One member here was, well, let's say stronger in his opinions. Although I did not respond to that series of posts I came to realize what the guy must have been feeling when I found some posts on the BON site in which one of 'our' (I recognized his sign on and bullitt number) members bragged about how he ripped apart the flames painter on our site. The response from the BON 'members' was nothing like the concern and awakening that happened here-they intentionally chased the guy away and did so laughing--really pathetic.

I remember the post, but did I offend him? I spoke my opinion, which was that I thought it didn't look that bad. But that I would not do it to mine. Crap I'm still trying to decide if I want tinted windows or not. If this offended him that was not my purpose. What defines flaming on Bullitt Club? Is it an attack a member or his/her ride? If you don't like something and you express your opinion is that regarded as flaming? I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but I really don't want my opinion taken as a flame. I mean this guy must have really put a lot of hard work into his project and if i say it's not something I would do. Did I offend him, flame him or just tell the truth? Please clear this up for me and maybe others. I've seen other sites get down to name calling and threats of bodily harm over nothing important. Someone was just looking for trouble and I don't want that to happen here.

Thx
Jim

Here's the deal people,..........

If someone installs Altezza tail lights, puts on a wing, stripes his car, changes the wheels, etc., please don't say that it looks like sh*t, just grin and bear it. They paid for the car and they earned the right to paint zebra stripes on it, if they so choose.

Sadly, more than one Bullitthead has asked to be removed because they made some kind of mod and got a snide comment or two in response. We're just trying to prevent any more requests from members to be deleted from the club.

We shouldn't have to define it or nitpick it but it goes like this.
Good response...
No thanx. I don't care for it myself.

Bad response...
Who the f*ck would put that ricer crap all over their car?!? What kind of @zzhole would do something so stupid!!

It's about as cut and dry as that. We're not telling you people to not have or pose your opinions all we ask is that you temper them with a little respect and common sense.

I believe your mother would say "If you can't say something nice then do not say anything at all." If you don't like the mod etc then say anything (subject to the exception set forth below-as PY would say that is lawyer talk).

If only one 'positive' shows up on the post that might tell the modifier that his idea may not be universally liked. He/she may or may not get the message but it will not be an in the face insult. This doesn't mean stay silent-comment on the mod if you have 'ideas'-- 'hey that looks interesting'-'did you think about using x color stripes instead, or whay did you decide to do it that way'. Those I believe would be constructive comments and questions rather than, "looks like s**t, why in the heck did you do that to the car" etc.

Now- if some puts up a post saying I'm thinking of doing X what do you all think-that indivdual is using the Board as a sounding board so to speak and is looking for critical comment as to how others see something--outside opinion is often very helpful. But even then-state your opinion but do it at least in a respectful manner and you maybe actually able to help-give alternative ideas or reasons if appropriate etc.

In all the years I have moderated and WIZOPed for Autodesk and HP our one rule has always been. If Mickey can not say it, they you can't <G>.

Flames wars (people, not cars) have never been good. I think most of the Bullitt Club members know that and respect that. Every once in a while a reminder never hurts though. So thanks for that reminder.

Takce care.

And to reiterate, it wasn't just the Gman thing, and its not about opinions, its about the expression thereof.

The internet can bring out the worst tone in any comment, just keep that in mind.
