I am looking to transfer a classic car (64 Falcon Sprint) from New England to California. Does anyone know of a good, reputable, transport company? Any ideas as to what type of questions to ask a transport company?

A couple of years ago, I looked into shipping '67 Mustang from California to Alabama. I got a quote of $775 and 7-10 days transit time. This was for an open carrier, fully insured, door-to-door (similar to what you see carrying new cars). I'm sure that a closed carrier is more $.

Try www.carshipper.com, if the link doesn't work, the phone number I have in my files is 800-551-2722.

also, look in the classified sections of car mags.
like Auto Week, Road & Track, Car & Driver, Moter Trend, Hemmings, etc.....
many of those companies advertise in car publications
