Bad Burning Smell

During the last week or so, I have noticed a bad smell coming from the rear of my car. After driving around for about 15 minutes, I get down around the rear wheels and smell something that is very similar to burning rubber, mind you I have not been smoking the tires. Anyway, I dont notice any mechanical problems, just the smell. I looked for a hooked plastic bag or something on the exhaust, but saw nothing. Was wondering if some of you more mechanically inclined Bullittheads may have some ideas what this may be before I drag the car back to the dealer yet again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

My horride smell was a plastic bag I had hung up on the converters! I only had the car 2 weeks and had just wupped up on a 96 GT and then came the smell, I thought I broke it, turned out when I looked under the car there was goop all over my drivers side pipe, I scraped that off with some wood and it only took about a day after that for the smell to clear up.
Thanks Steve. I will look again more closely, just took a cursory glance before. I am probably getting worried for nothing.
#230 has the burning plastic smell also. Must have picked up a plastic bag.
I smelled something too, but I blame that on Taco Bell.
ROFL Nasty!! That's NASTY!!
I know the Taco Bell smell Nasty. This isn't it.
CMEZIP, why did you hang a plastic bag on your converter??
Check to make sure it's not the carpeting. My brother had a V8 Granada that had a bad exhaust on it when he drove the car home it started to melt the carpeting.
