I was just returning from lunch going west down the access road of Loop 101 towards 7th Avenue when I noticed a red car closing on me fast as I turned north on the 7th Avenue bridge. I pulled into the left lane and the red car comes into my blind spot in the right lane. I was not sure what kind of car it was and not sure if the guy was going to try and take me, but I was ready just in case. The light turned green and I casually started to release the clutch when all of a sudden I hear an engine roar and tires squeeling from this guy. So I nail it and shift to 2nd about 6K RPM and spin the tires a bit going into 2nd. I never saw the guy come beside me so I looked back and saw a 5.0L Mustang and a lot of tire smoke as he tried to catch up. I accelerated to about 90MPH before he gave up. You know, all the horsepower in the world does you no good if you can't control it. I say, what the hell, I won and I'm sure he'll think twice before assuming a later model Mustang is easy pickens.
