Almost same situation here. Have DHG and have only seen 1 black one on the road.

It seems to me that those out there who are true "collectors" (you know what I mean...white gloves, Bullitt with ten miles on it sitting with the other 25 cars in the heated garage, Chauncy serving wine and cheese on the veranda) will have bought DHG's.
Maybe a larger percentage of us blue and black guys just bought them to DRIVE.
I just don't see a collector buying a black or blue on and hiding it away like a DHG.
That being said...I've seen about 8 other Bullitts and they were ALL DHG...haven't seen a blue one yet.

Makes me wonder if many of the DHG owners have socked their cars away speculating on the collectability issue.

For the record, I have a DHG and drive it daily right now. I did not buy it on speculation. I just hoped it would hold value better than your average car, which I think it will. I also have a '99 GMC Z71 in Indigo Blue, close to TB, and love the color. I would seriously consider buying a GT in True Blue if the Bullitt did not exist.

We all bought our cars for our own reasons. Mine was because I have wanted a '68, just like McQueen's, since I saw the movie as a kid. When the new Bullitt came along, I bought one sight unseen. Now, if I could just afford Dennis's '68 and have it re-painted and put on the proper wheels........

Hey Dennis;
Pretty scary, we must have been typing at the same time. I did not mean to copy your sentiment, nor had I read your post when I mentioned your '68 for sale. Spooky.

Spooky for sure. Both our posts say 14:48...Same train of thought...Mentioning my 68 Fastback... You must be my long lost twin!

#227 is Black and I have seen 3 Black Bullitts in my area of Northern California. I almost purchased a Green one but it had dents in it. The last laugh was on me though since #227 went back for paint work 4 times and will soon go back for paint work a 5th time;-(...

I have yet to see a Blue one though;-)... Any Blue Bullitt owners here in Northern California?

Happy Holidays.

Is the breakdown of colors still 50% DHG,
35% Black and 15% True Blue?

Thanks crs2879! I'll write these down only
to lose them and ask this question again
in about 2 months. :lol:
Wow! Even fewer blues than I thought!
